Hey Woori, I am 26 years old, too. I agree with you on all fronts, except one. When I was a child, I wanted to be an astronaut, and I didn't just stop there. I read a lot of stuff. I could draw star charts from memory when I was 10. I stood top three in my regional astro olympiad when I was around 14-15. But after some time, I understood I was born in a third-world country, Bangladesh. My grandfather was a farmer, and my lower middle-class family could not afford me pursuing this dream. Fast forward 10 years, I'm a data engineer. I earn just enough for me and my family to live comfortably. I would say I'm doing all right. You know what stayed with me? During all this time, it helped me through each step and is still helping me become a better man, is Islam. Islam has been with me since my childhood. Islam doesn't just tell you to believe. It tells you to think, to question, to seek. It is a lifestyle, a life path. It is not controlled by a bunch of people. It doesn't serve capitalism or any other ideologies or any countries. It doesn't bend its rules to serve certain social dynamics. It has a guide, a book that was sent to us by Allah 1400 years ago, and not a single word has been altered. I am very far from being a perfect muslim, I make a lot of mistakes. Blame me for them, not Islam. Islam has made me a better man. I help others. I feel peace in helping others. I feel peace in serving my family. I feel peace bowing down to Allah. I am not asking you to convert. I am not asking you to pray to Allah. I am just asking you to read the Quran a little bit. You can access it very easily on without any purchase or ads, or you can buy it in your local store. I suggest the translation by Mustafa Khattab (The Clear Quran). Just read a little bit every day for a couple of weeks, a couple of months, however you feel comfortable. Read authentic hadith from Bukhari or Muslim. Follow respected scholars like Mufti Menk or Nouman Ali Khan. Feel free to ask questions on ask other Muslims, or contact me anytime. Islam encourages you to ask questions.
