“It took a TRANSGENDER” is crazy

I notice a lot of non trans people saying this wasn’t done with malicious intent, and I *mostly* agree. But it’s less about the intent or even the language and more about the way the tone and context express an othering of and disdain towards trans people.

Whether that othering and disdain is a reflection of her own views or the way that she knows other people view trans people, I can’t say.

Also and this is probably the last thing I’ll say about it. Y’all keep saying “she’s 50 years old” as a reason why she shouldn’t be expected to speak respectfully about trans people. How old do you think the people running the country and making laws about trans people are?

There’s a constant level of divisiveness when it comes to cis women & trans women. In this VERY SAME interview, she made reference to Madison again and thanked TS Madison, and ended with “..they say that woman is against women, but she’s always advocating for women..” because she’s aware of how people pit the two, she affirmed her. That’s how TS received it.

Seems like TS wasn’t offended. This is a teachable moment for Mo but you can tell it wasn’t said out of hate.

This is loud and wrong! Mo said it properly with no malicious intent! You’re own hatred caused you to hear what you wanted to hear

By saying “it took a transgender” she was pointing out the fact that despite transgenders being mostly rejected by the community, it was a trans woman who showed up for her. She gave Ts Madison her flowers. Don’t always look for the negative.

i swear y’all just be hearing words but don’t take the time to actually LISTEN

I cringed so bad

I gooped
