I love scrolling through the worst possible news from every possible place on an app lousy with gambling ads because every so often I'll see something relatable like "bitches don't know about my enya CDs"

I have brought great pride to my ancestors

I wish the 90s never ended, truly better times

I KNEW that was gonna be Return to Innocence before I hit play. LOVE IT.

It is not a Native American chant. It is a traditional Taiwanese drinking song. The singer is Difang Duana. He sued Enigma after hearing his voice on the radio.

these vocals are from a husband + wife Taiwanese Aboriginal group. they were super bummed that their recordings were used for commercial use and they embarked on a decade-long battle to get royalties, which they would eventually win

It was the same era as magic eye paintings and Global Hypercolour tshirts that would change colour when you touche them. Also wrap around polaried shades. And finger skateboards.

Those shirts were awesome and gave you 8 kinds of turbo cancer It was a different time

Yeah but they broke after 5 washes.

It was an indigenous song… of Taiwan.

Not one Pure Moods comment yet?

It's still a vibe tbh.

90's baby!

feel like this song is spiritually similar to this concept

enigma on my timeline? what a beautiful day

Had no idea this post would do numbers cause mine usually don’t. Said fuck it threw on enigma radio when I woke up and now I’m having a dance party with my dogs listening to Depeche Mode and Portishead sipping coffee watching it rain outside. Apparently it’s still a whole vibe

Sadness Pt. 2 Man

Basically this

I kept it going into the 2000s and got into Deep Forest.

I was partial to Sacred Spirits

This is the best commercial of all time

Remember Orbital? Dude was fucking killing it. When the beat drops at the end of the MK movie it changed my little roller blading life.

Brief???? Enya is always my #1 most listened artist every year. Enya and Enigma are daily listens.

everyone posting the original but I'm really interested in this specific version in the video that's using the "Aggressive Break" preset in Drumlab for Kontakt which did not exist in the 90s

A DAW enjoyer I see

Here's some context about the song: The famous chanting in Enigma's 1993 hit Return to Innocence is not Native American, but a traditional folk song of the Amis people of Taiwan, specifically the Elders' Drinking Song performed by indigenous Taiwanese couple Difang and Igay Duana

Um. So I still unironically listen to both. ALSO Enigma has used Gregorian chanting as well, so really, this comes full circle. You know what? Fuck this Internet shit for the night. I think I'm gonna throw on Love, Sensuality, and Devotion before I sleep.

I also love The Mummer's Dance by Loreena McKennit.

better than any song that came out in 2026

great era

Dead in 10 years

Good song but it's not a Gregorian chant. Sadeness by enigma is though

CIA implanted this into everyones heads via that 1 commercial.

And these African prints were everywhere.

Ever hear this one? This album (Karma, check it out) made me obsessed with Kristy Thirsk. Had to climb in used CD crates trying to find Rose Chronicles discs after.

It was a pure time

We were truly a more enlightened people then Must have been all the Fruitopia we drank.

This is the song if anyone wants to know

Thank you for reminding me - going to sleep to that tonight! ❤️

i genuinely miss this :(
