Footage of young boys forced to dance in Afghanistan. Tradition of ‘Bacha Bazi’ “beardless boys” are given to men for sexual abuse. It is a centuries-long tradition of sexual abuse and slavery of young boys by older, powerful men, often Pashtuns. Preadolescent boys, called Bacha Bareesh “beardless boys from impoverished families, serve as “entertainers” to influential Afghans. Dressed as girls, makeup dance for masters. This is how these boys provide for their families. The book Kite Runner has some of this in it. A documentary, The Dancing Boys of Afghanistan, was shown in the UK in March 2010 “This is the norm; Afghan men have to buy a bride ( it's expensive), and if they can't afford it, instead rape young boys and goats. That way, it doesn't go against Koran.”
