Good for him on confronting his problem. Takes a big man to own it publicly. Aaron’s talent was without question. He’s still young enough to have a good football career - I wish him well.

Outstanding this. Fair play.

Well done, Aaron 👏🏼

Fair play to him for speaking about something like this

It's not easy to talk about things, well done Aaron lad ❤️🤍

@wearebrighton We saw his drop off @ Brighton and where his alcoholism took him, he’s very brave and strong to admit his addiction. He’ll be great again.

Incredible honestly. Loved him at Hull. Sunderland have some player on their hands with his head in the right place, which it clearly is now

Glad you got the help you needed. Goes beyond rivalries to say we don’t want addiction

Biggest battle is over Arron, admitting the problem and talking about it is the hardest but biggest step.A decent guy and I hope you can now return to getting that buzz from playing football again. Go show em what you can do Arron, sure Sunderland will support you

Let's all get behind him. When he scores that first goal at the SoL, the roof comes off!!

Neil Hopper was a vascular surgeon who had both his own legs amputated to satisfy his sexual fantasy. I covered his story in depth last year, but there's a part of it that was just too disturbing to include in the essay. Here's me telling Peter Boghossian all about it.
