Legend may be a bit much. Great talent, very good career. Woods, Nicklaus, Snead, Hogan- those are legends.

It was Spaun's first playoff, rory's 6th(?). I don't believe a single pro golfer is fazed by someone that can hit the ball far, maybe you and other amateurs would get into that but not a Pro. Experience and the fact that Rory is more talented is what won the playoff. Rory finished the 3 hole playoff +1, not great.

I agree but it was a huge advantage for Rory to start on the par-5 and have the teebox. He did the best thing he could by smashing that drive and did what great golfers do, take advantage of breaks

Exactly. One swing and it was over. And btw, Rory having “the honor” off hole 16 was questionable. On Tour they have always drawn numbers from a hat/ bowl etc. They just gave it to Rory and said, “because Rory finished regulation play before Spaun did”, thats BS. And it matters.

Dude played the 3-hole playoff at +1. Did nothing special, was handed a win because Spaun looked like the moment was way to big for him. Having to sleep before playing the playoff was what helped Rory win. Spaun also committing golf sins by leaving must make putts short.

This is so true. A lot will be made of Spaun’s tee shot on 17, but I think more credit to Rory in what looked like hugely challenging conditions - when you take out the tee shot they both three putted 17, and both bogeyed (or worse) 18.

If you’ve even tried to “slow down your backswing”… Here’s Rory with one of the fastest backswings I’ve seen from him… I’m not saying that a “slow backswing” doesn’t help you… maybe it does (doubt it) But a “slow backswing” is likely not the answer or the root cause of why you are hitting the ball poorly A “fast backswing” doesn’t cause poor shots… as shown by Rory hitting it 360 down here
