"It went from getting tased to having a Gatorade bath based off us winning the first Bowl game since 2019. Being the ninth team in Louisiana Tech history to win a Bowl game means a lot." It wasn't pretty, but Sonny Cumbie will take the Gatorade bath any day!...

Remember that time in 2020 when Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns® Football beat Iowa State 31-14? Then Iowa State went on to finish 9-3 with a 3 point loss at (6) Oklahoma State and a 6 point loss in the Big12 championship game to Oklahoma? And they had wins over (18) Oklahoma, at (20) Texas, and (25) Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl? And finished top 10 in the rankings? And Louisiana lost one game by 3 to an undefeated Coastal Carolina and finished number 15? Wild times.

I went to the first Penn State game of 2023 and thought it was funny they never mentioned the Rose Bowl win at any point during the game. Also, just like Provo, this is a bucket list stadium for any college football fan.

Eagles coach Coach Rasool on Maxx Crosby and Brock Bowers : "It would be hard to tell the difference between them in practice and in a game. It looks the same. It always looked like the fourth quarter. Or the first snap of the game. Or the game-winning play. Max wanted to win at everything he did. He could be playing pool, a video game, cards and you'd have thought it was to break a record in the NFL. You'd have thought it was to go to the Super Bowl."

Three of the coldest picks in Louisville Football history 🐔🔥 • 2013 Sugar Bowl vs Florida – Terrell Floyd jumps the route on the first play of the game and takes it to the house. Louisville goes on to stun the Gators. • 2021 vs UCF – Jaylin Alderman seals it with a walk-off pick six in the final seconds. • 2025 vs Miami – TJ Capers came up clutch with the game-winning pick to ice it for the Cards, taking down the No. 2 team in the country in MIYAYO. Man… it’s definitely debatable which one takes the crown. The Sugar Bowl had history… but last night? The pulse of the whole season was on the line and the Cards showed up in a major way.

Happy 83rd Birthday, Donny Anderson! One of the most versatile NFL players of the Super Bowl era, or any era A two-time All-American halfback from Texas Tech, Donny signed with the #Packers in late 1965 for $600,000 over three years — then the most lucrative rookie contract in the history of American sports. He could do it all — run, catch, punt, pass, return kicks. After six seasons and a Pro Bowl with Green Bay, the two-time Super Bowl champion was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals in 1972 — where he would finish his career with three more productive seasons. #WreckEm

Eagles/Rams 2001 NFC Championship: The 2001 Eagles were that seasons feel good story, going from 5 wins two years earlier to their first NFC title game since 1980 as they were facing a 14-2 Rams team fresh off a recent Super Bowl win. Few gave Philly a chance, but the Eagles controlled much of the game and even led at halftime after a last minute McNabb to Pinkston TD. Then Marshall Faulk took over. Two 1 yard 2nd half TDs swung the game and put the Rams up 12. Down but not out, McNabb answered with a TD drive to cut it to 5, and the defense forced a quick 3 and out to give the Eagles one last shot. That’s where it ended. The offense stalled, and McNabb’s 4th down INT to Aeneas Williams sealed it, 29-24. A turning point for the NFC: the Rams never reached another title game with that core, while the Eagles went on to make the next three, taking over the conference and people understand this game was their arrival moment.

2008 might be the most overlooked game in the Nebraska-Colorado Rivalry. Alex Henery kicks a 57-yard field to put the Huskers ahead. 🌽 It still stands as the school record. 🌽 Ndamukong Suh with a Pick Six Big Man Touchdown. 🌽 This game denied Colorado a bowl game. They only made two bowl games in the next 15 years.✅ This elevated Nebraska to a NYD Bowl and a win against Dabo’s Clemson Tigers.✅ It was the first 50-yarder hit by a Cornhusker since Josh Brown in 2000.✅ Surpassed a Memorial Stadium record of 55-yards by Chris Drennan in 1989.✅ The fourth of four field-goals hit by Henery that day. ✅ Also, props to snapper T.J. The Greatest Texas Tech Football Player To Wear The Number 5 Patrick Mahomes This was a tough one because I had to choose between two of the all-time greats in Texas Tech history: Michael Crabtree and Patrick Mahomes. I told myself going into this series that I wasn’t going to take the easy way out and have ties, so unfortunately, one of these Red Raider legends had to come up short. Crabtree’s Texas Tech résumé is incredible. He won the Biletnikoff Award twice, became a two-time All-American, and finished his career with 231 catches for 3,127 yards and 41 touchdowns. He was the centerpiece of one of the greatest stretches in Texas Tech football history, including the unforgettable 2008 win over No. 1 Texas. If we’re judging strictly on what a player accomplished in the scarlet and black, Crabtree has an extremely strong case. But I’m going with Patrick Mahomes. His Texas Tech career was spectacular, finishing with 11,252 passing yards, 93 passing touchdowns and 12,097 total yards. Then he went on to become a two-time NFL MVP, three-time Super Bowl champion and three-time Super Bowl MVP. What really pushes him over the top for me, though, is that his connection to Texas Tech didn’t end when he left Lubbock. Mahomes has continued to be one of the university’s greatest ambassadors, including a $5 million donation to Texas Tech Athletics and having facilities named in his honor. Unfortunately, there was one thing Mahomes couldn't do at Texas Tech: play defense. And lord knows if Texas Tech had fielded even a mediocre defense instead of a bad defense, Mahomes might have had an even better record in Lubbock. But when you're talking about the greatest No. 5 in Texas Tech history, I'm giving the crown to Patrick Mahomes. Two legends, two incredible careers, but I promised there wouldn't be any ties — and Mahomes gets the nod.

The first Gaelic football video game in over 20 years is hitting the shelves on Thursday - after being created by a Belfast company. ‘Gaelic Football Laochra’ by Buck Eejit Games, will be the first Irish-made video game to offer players a Gaelic Football experience, and the first to feature Gaelic games since an Australian company released a series of poorly received football and hurling titles in the mid-2000s. The game will be released for PC, XBOX and PlayStation, and it will allow players to choose any of Ireland’s county football teams, along with London and New York.
