I am deeply saddened to hear that a boat carrying 90 people capsized on Lake Kariba in Zimbabwe today. The boat, owned by the Rural Infrastructure Development Agency (RIDA), a government agency, was on Lake Kariba when it capsized. The head of RIDA is quoted as saying that the situation is “not sounding good at all,” although some people have been rescued. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was on the boat and with their families during this extremely difficult and anxious time. I am hoping and praying for the best, particularly for the safe rescue of those who are still unaccounted for.

My Odesa …We are all like this building now — at first glance, it may seem like there’s no war, but look a little closer and the whole picture changes. There’s a hole in every heart — and those are the lucky ones, because at least the remnants of their hearts are still beating. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has helped and continues to help us move forward despite everything — those who support us in difficult times and make it possible for us to help those who, quite literally, make our lives possible.
