Some truths are uncomfortable…. The video below is that of a Hausa man living in New York (I’ve not verified this or know his name). He is talking about solving the ‘Almajiri’ problem in northern Nigeria. I don’t agree with everything the he is saying (or if what he is proposing will solve the problem) but if we all agreed that what he is trying to solve is a uniquely #Arewa problem, can we propose alternatives to its solution? Definitely it is not tenable to have millions of kids outside formal education and growing up into adults that are outside the formal economy. Are we ready to recognise that irresponsible parenting and societal neglect are the root cause of the ‘almajiranci’ scourge? If yes, are we ready to hold the parents of these kids accountable? Or agree on how we go about holding them accountable? Are we ready as a society to confront and eliminate or reform this negative phenomenon? As of now, this is not on any northern politician’s agenda. None of our so called political elites is ready to own this issue or even to take a deeper look at ways to confront it. Whatever they are doing on this for now is mere tokenism. Do the solution does not lie with them for now. But, as a society, confront this we must. Even if our political leaders are failing to do anything about it. Your thoughts please.

We are all aware of the current state of young drivers in India, and the growing obsession with high-powered SUVs has only worsened the situation. This incident is yet another disturbing reflection of the toxic mindset developing among some youth one driven by recklessness, arrogance, and a complete disregard for human life. Even more troubling is how this act exposes the alarming failure of our legal and enforcement systems. There is no visible fear of the law. No respect for accountability. The more one watches this video, the deeper the outrage and helplessness grow. It doesn’t just provoke anger it instills disgust. This was not a mere accident it was a deliberate, dangerous act that could have easily resulted in multiple deaths. Such behavior must be treated as an attempt to murder, and nothing less. The driver must face the strictest punishment under the law. His vehicle should be permanently seized, and he must be imprisoned for life. Let this not be just another headline. Let this be a precedent. An example to show that such atrocities will not be tolerated in a civil society. So what do y’all think is worse? People on Twitter expressing their negative opinions about how a fundraiser for someone we all care about went? Or the host of the fundraiser shitting on those people *during the actual fundraiser*? Also, I am going to clear up James’ disinformation - literally nobody in the chat was being negative towards Karen. In fact, 90% of the negativity in the chat was directed at James. James was receiving so much negativity because of his own disrespectful and foolish behavior (watch the 2nd video to see just some examples of why I say that). On top of the comments he was making he was also moving around doing random shit constantly. Check out the 3rd video to watch James wiggle around like a bored preschooler whose breakfast cereal had way too much sugar in it for 2.5mins all while the amazing and highly respected attorney, Carl Steinbeck, was speaking. Compare his behavior to the rest of the panelists. Oh! And check out the last video to see Mike throw shade at Runkle in a feeble attempt to soothe his own fragile and wounded ego. So no - we are not the assholes in this situation. And we are not being negative about last night’s fundraiser just because we dislike some of the creators involved. If that was our motivation we would have had the same reaction to the previous fundraiser that those same people did but we didn’t. Nobody was being harsh about that fundraiser because it was ran well and respectful - last night’s fundraiser was not. My only hope is that last night was the wake up call that some people needed to realize just how bad it’s gotten and that it’s time to put on their big girl/boy panties and straighten this shit out so Karen can make sure that when all is said and done even Gary Busey is looking at people like Proctor and Bukhenik with pity.

SMALL ACCOUNTS VS KOL’s The struggle to earn yaps!! It’s been no news that Kaito(Info-fi) has completed changed the system, Be popular or you won’t survive. A lot of small creators have had to abandon or flee the web3 scene just because they couldn’t adapt to posting Everyday or making 500 replies a day ( which also puts your account at risk of suspension ). Some people are just used to grinding and doing their tasks from the shadows, No identity, Just wallet addresses(Testnets). In 2025, That’s history and the Monad checker this week literally put a coffin to that matter. As a small creators myself, I’ve had a very difficult time adapting, Imagine creating content for Brevis for the past 2 weeks everyday and still not touching the leaderboard Since April, Every $ i’ve made is from Perps, I’m still on $0 profits from info-fi and I’m not saying this because i want pity or anything, i’m just speaking for how it is for a lot of people on here. Also, I lost my initial account in April with about 25 SF, I thought it was the end, Nobody could convince me that i was going to bounce back but uhm, Alhamdullilah for where we are today. I’m posting this video because i feel like it’s what i have to do to uhm, Be known and just get to put myself out there, Statistically (My statistics btw), The Accounts most people f*ck with are the ones with faces on them. If anyone had told me i’d be doing this 6 months ago, I would have told them i’d rather skydive without a parachute 😂. Creators like degenBRO ,Wals and ✨whateverman✨🎙️(Babatunde) that really inspire a lot of us especially me that it’s not the end just because you’re a “small account” , Sometimes it’s a mindset that once you get used to, It would be very difficult to snap out of and working hard would be very difficult cause you would be demoralized to. The Democrats trying to remove RFK Jr. from every state ballot due to a mere technicality of where he lives should be the biggest news story of the week. Yet many people don’t even know it’s happening. If Harris was stuck in court because Trump/RFK were trying to get her removed off of all ballots because they deemed her a threat to themselves so the easiest way to win is merely not give people the chance to vote for her, the mainstream media would be all over the story. There would be huge protests, it would be all over social media, we would all be well aware of the terrible judicial weaponization that Trump/RFK were using against Harris and it would be chaos (rightfully so). But instead the media isn’t even covering the story, if you look up RFK right now the only thing that will pop up is a stupid bear story that took place 10 years ago. This is pure deception. News not covering stories they believe would hurt their candidate, is more damaging than them covering stories in a biased way like they usually do, because at least when a story is covered in a biased way, rational thinking people are able to realize this and make the conclusion for themselves. The media has taken a ton of flack (as they should), about how they cover stories in a way to shape their narrative. We need to also start calling them out for the stories they choose not to report on as well! If RFK loses this case and is removed from the New York State ballot and other state ballots after it due to precedence, Trump will almost certainty be elected. This one is a must read. I hope the takeaway is, at minimum, eye opening. To any player/parent trying to navigate the recruiting process right now - here is some perspective for you. I came across this video recently on Twitter - It’s a video of Juan Soto when he was 16 years old in the Dominican Republic. (Credit to parker hageman for digging it up and posting it.) I decided to do an informal case study. I sent the Soto video to 13 high-level baseball evaluators - 4 current MLB scouts, 7 current and former D1 recruiting coordinators & head coaches, 1 former pro manager/ college head coach, and 1 current JC head coach. All guys that I know and trust to give honest feedback. I told them that I had just started working with this 16 year old international player and that I was hoping to get their feedback from an evaluation perspective. 3 of the 13 knew it was Soto from the video. Of the other 10, here were the results: - 1 current D1 coach said “He looks like he’s gonna get paid. I have money for a ’26 if he doesn’t want to sign with an MLB team. Somebody will pay that swing.” - 2 of them liked his physical upside and bat speed and said once he puts on some weight they think he’s got a chance. - 7 of them said something along the lines of… “He needs to go to a JC”, “he has too much effort in his swing”, “looks like he has some timing issues”, etc... The video was taken shortly before he signed for $1.5m with the Washington Nationals. He is a future Hall of Famer. Let that sink in for a moment. The question is, why were the majority of these college coaches and scouts flawed in their initial evaluation of the short video I sent them of a guy who signed for $1.5m with the Washington Nationals a few months later? - Are they bad evaluators? - Was the video not a good enough representation of Soto’s ability? - Was there not enough context as to his track record and other tools to make an informed evaluation? - Is it just difficult to evaluate a player off of 1 minute of video? - Did the fact that he is an international guy change things? - If he had hit 3 homers in this video reel would they have a different opinion? In all honesty, I wasn’t surprised by any of these responses. I might’ve said the same thing if I didn’t know it was Soto. It is likely a combination of multiple of the reasons I listed above… but the point I am trying to make here is this: I hear all the time from high school and JC players/parents about how frustrated, disappointed, or defeated they feel because they aren’t getting interest from college coaches, and because coaches don’t respond to their emails & DM’s. So here is the perspective that you need to understand: even Juan Soto’s video from a few months before signing a $1.5m contract didn’t garner the type of interest that you would expect. Are you better than Juan Soto was at 16 years old? Are you a future hall of fame caliber player? There are so many factors that go into the recruiting process. It is a multi-sided marketplace where each stakeholder (college coach and player) has to have a mutual need and interest in one another. Baseball is the hardest sport to evaluate and it’s not even close, IMO. Coaches and scouts are wrong all the time. Players can get exponentially better in a short period of time. It’s not always a pretty process, but all it takes is one coach to see something in you and want to invest in you. Dial in the things you can control. Make sure coaches to have the full picture of who you are as a player and why you can help them win. And don’t be upset when you get limited responses/feedback. It happened to Soto too - and he is much better than you.

This is gonna be so long omg but when it comes to translating in Korean, it’s very very important to take in consideration of 1) Culture 2) Seniority, the Closeness & Intimacy of the people involved in a conversation. Because this gives an entire different vibe for the context. And we have to keep in mind that there are Korean phrases and expressions that simply don’t have just One way, exact words that can be translated in English. Translators can find ways to convey the meaning, but it requires more explanation and understanding of the context while conveying it, and not relying on assumptions. How about “인상 덜 쓰기” or “인상 쓰다“ then? Here, a direct translation can simply be 인상 덜 쓰기 - be less grumpy/ frown less, etc 인상 쓰다 - being grumpy, frown, make a face, etc Here, I include an educational video of an English speaker talking with a Korean speaker where they’re discussing a similar expression, “인상 좀 쓰지마!“ (which in word by word in English, it sounds something like “Don’t frown/ Don’t make a face”) Now, as an English speaker, that sounds a bit harsh doesn’t it? That’s because such expression doesn’t exist in just One interpretation in English, so if we only read it as it is, without considering the context and the speakers’ closeness, we’re bound to misunderstand the context. This is gonna be so long omg but when it comes to translating in Korean, it’s very very important to take in consideration of 1) Culture 2) Seniority, the Closeness & Intimacy of the people involved in a conversation. Because this gives an entire different vibe for the context. And we have to keep in mind that there are Korean phrases and expressions that simply don’t have just One way, exact words that can be translated in English. Translators can find ways to convey the meaning, but it requires more explanation and understanding of the context while conveying it, and not relying on assumptions. How about “인상 덜 쓰기” or “인상 쓰다“ then? Here, a direct translation can simply be 인상 덜 쓰기 - be less grumpy/ frown less, etc 인상 쓰다 - being grumpy, frown, make a face, etc Here, I include an educational video of an English speaker talking with a Korean speaker where they’re discussing a similar expression, “인상 좀 쓰지마!“ (which in word by word in English, it sounds something like “Don’t frown/ Don’t make a face”) Now, as an English speaker, that sounds a bit harsh doesn’t it? That’s because such expression doesn’t exist in just One interpretation in English, so if we only read it as it is, without considering the context and the speakers’ closeness, we’re bound to misunderstand the context. Each and every time there's been innovation in music — from the earliest forms of recorded music, to sampling, to drum machines, to remixing, MP3s, and streaming music — the record labels have attempted to limit progress. They have spent decades attempting to control the terms of how we create and enjoy music, and this time is no different. So, it is perhaps not a surprise that on June 24th, members of the Recording Industry Association of America, which represents the major record labels, filed a lawsuit against Suno, alleging that the data used in training our music generation technologies infringed on the copyrights of the major record labels that they represent. This lawsuit is fundamentally flawed on both the facts and the law, and is nothing more than yet another instance where they chose litigation over innovation. For starters, the major record labels clearly hold misconceptions about how our technology works. Suno helps people create music through a similar process to one humans have used forever: by learning styles, patterns, and forms (in essence, the "grammar" or music), and then inventing new music around them. The major record labels are trying to argue that neural networks are mere parrots — copying and repeating — when in reality model training looks a lot more like a kid learning to write new rock songs by listening religiously to rock music. Like that kid, Suno gets better the more our AI learns. We train our models on medium- and high-quality music we can find on the open internet — just as Google's Gemini, Microsoft's Copilot, Anthropic's Claude, OpenAI's ChatGPT, and even Apple's new Apple Intelligence train their models on the open internet. Much of the open internet indeed contains copyrighted materials, and some of it is owned by major record labels. But, just like the kid writing their own rock songs after listening to the genre — or a teacher or a journalist reviewing existing materials to draw new insights — learning is not infringing. It never has been, and it is not now. The timing of this lawsuit was somewhat surprising. When this lawsuit landed, Suno was, in fact, having productive discussions with a number of the RIAA's major record label members to find ways of expanding the pie for music together. We did so not because we had to, but because we believe that the music industry could help us lead this expansion of opportunity for everyone, rather than resisting it. Whether this lawsuit is the result of over-eager lawyers throwing their weight around, or a conscious strategy to gain leverage in our commercial discussions, we believe that this lawsuit is an unnecessary impediment to a larger and more valuable future for music. This is particularly the case because Suno is a new kind of musical instrument, one that enables a new kind of creative process for everyone and opens new business opportunities for the industry. Suno is designed for original music, and we prize originality, both in how we build our product and in how people use it. This🔥 This video hit differently, and it's not because it’s about rap and the beef. But because of how the Librarian said it. In a country where Black men already carry heavy stereotypes, there are certain lines you don’t cross when it comes to each other, not for clicks, not for strategy, not for a win. And Kendrick? For many, he wasn’t just any rapper. He was supposed to be different. The one people pointed to as “principled”, representing something deeper for blacks. That’s why it hit harder, and many of us are now angry and stand against him on principle. For many of us, it’s not even about picking sides; at first, it’s about the standard. Because if Drake (my favorite rapper of all time) had said the same things about Kendrick, I’d feel the same way. No hesitation- I would have cut him off like I did Kendrick. Some accusations don’t stay in music; they follow real people, real lives. And putting that on a Black man, knowing how this country and most of the world already operate? That’s where many of us draw the line. So yeah- this video captures it perfectly. The frustration. The disappointment and the shift in many of us. Because when Kendrick, the one who was seen as “different”, moves like everyone else, you have to question if it was ever real at all. The brands he works with also support and acknowledge the whole group, celebrating their releases and anniversaries. He has never claimed responsibility for the group’s success, he has always credited it to the team. The MC asked him whether he writes and composes, and Felix answered honestly, because he does. The question was never whether he wrote all of Stray Kids’ songs. Felix has 25 KOMCA credits , which makes him a singer, songwriter, and composer: Even when discussing his own work, he ended his answer by emphasizing teamwork and staying positive as a group. I ask everyone to take a moment to research before spreading misinformation or joining akgaes in targeting him. The past few months have been exhausting, with repeated hate trains directed at him for no valid reason. What’s more disappointing is that much of this negativity is coming from within the fandom itself. If Felix bothers you, it’s better to focus your energy on what you enjoy instead. And if you do care about him, please stop engaging with akgaes and amplifying negativity toward the members. But beyond complicity, the fact that Morrissey then went on to make his exceedingly problematic video statement in August 2023 where he personally vouched for the credibility of these same “witnesses” thereby makes him a co-conspirator in the coverup of Officer O’Keefe’s murder AND in the framing of innocent woman Karen Read. What possible explanation could he offer for such actions and conduct? There’s no innocent explanation. Brian Keating (Prof. Brian Keating) and Rebecca Newberger Goldstein (Rebecca Newberger Goldstein) discuss "The Law of Physics Behind Depression." Rebecca Newberger Goldstein: The thing that suicidally depressed people feel is that they don’t matter; others do, they don’t. Nothing they can do will ever make them matter. It’s a terrible, terrible feeling. And what this means is they cannot abide their own presence. Brian Keating: What if there is a law of physics that explains why depression feels the way it does? Rebecca Newberger Goldstein: When I first learned about the second law of thermodynamics, it seemed—I couldn’t quite conceptualize it. We are subject to the second law of thermodynamics, which, you know, has a tragic dimension. In fact, when I was a graduate student, it occurred to me, oh my gosh, biological systems are really just organized to resist the second law of thermodynamics. In some sense, biology is a response to this supreme law that tells us that, in closed systems, energy never increases; entropy never decreases. Entropy never decreases, and if there’s any way for it to increase, it will. Entropy is the measure of the disorder of a system. The more disorder, the higher the entropy, and the less efficient the work you can get out at the end of the system. And in fact, Rudolf Clausius, the physicist, said that the universe itself will go to thermal equilibrium—what we call the heat death—and so there will be no more energy to be gotten out of it at the end of the system. Rudolf Clausius, the 19th-century physicist who formulated the concept of entropy, which means literally “transformation from within”—there’s poignancy in that. This transformation from within is going to the end of the system. And he said that the universe itself will go to thermal equilibrium, to what we call the heat death, and so there will be no more energy to be gotten out of it. Brian Keating: So let’s start with that story you tell first about Ludwig Boltzmann, who solved one of the great paradoxes of physics, the irreversibility paradox. Talk about that. And then why, in your mind, was he so traumatized, perhaps, or so full of dread of his equation that he took his own life? So talk about that. Rebecca Newberger Goldstein: So there was this great paradox, which is that most—probably most—of the processes that we observe are irreversible. If you film them—and tell me if I’m being too elementary, because I’m going to be very—you know, if you film them, like let’s say I crack open an egg and I stir it up and then I fry it, and somebody filmed this and then reversed the film, anybody who sees the reverse of that film is going to know it was reversed. That cannot happen in nature: that the egg is going to uncook itself, unscramble; the yolk is going to separate from the albumen and jump into the shell and seal up. Impossible, right? So almost everything that we see is irreversible. Brian Keating: Yes. I saw that line, Rebecca. It made me think, because you mentioned it in the context of his daughter, Elsa, finding her father’s dead body. And it wasn’t like he showed any sign. I mean, we can’t go into the minds of someone who dies by suicide, right? Yes. But at the same time, you’d think, well, this would be a more common thing. And so, is depression sort of a—you know, they used to think of miasmas and things in the air, you write about that in the book—is depression, at heart, an entropic collapsing process? Rebecca Newberger Goldstein: I have spoken to a lot of people who suffer from clinical depression. And I want to say, first of all, that the U.S. hotline for suicide prevention is The thing that suicidally depressed people feel is that they don’t matter. Others do. They don’t. Nothing they can do will ever make them matter. It’s a terrible, terrible feeling. And what this means is they cannot—they can’t abide their own presence. I really think it shows how strong this mattering instinct is in us. If you can’t somehow appease it, you can’t abide your own presence. And so, what the people I’ve spoken to—and one is a very, very good philosopher who has suffered from depression—have told me is that, phenomenologically, this is exactly what it feels like. It feels like psychic disintegration. So, in some sense, yes—happiness is a very ordered state. And I would go even further: everything worth living for is an ordered state. I think knowledge—knowledge, knowledge, knowledge—is better than ignorance. Clarity is better than confusion. Flourishing is better than suffering. Love is better than hatred. Beauty is better than ugliness. These are truisms; these are what we all accept. Look at the thing that’s better: it’s an ordered state. And its negation is a disordered state. So I think—I would argue—this is a very kind of Spinozist argument, trying to get out of the laws of nature some ethical enlightenment, some ethical guidance, because that’s what we want. We want ethical guidance. So we know we want to matter. We know we do all sorts of things to matter. Some people do very bad things in order to matter. Some of the people I’ve spoken to… they do. They want power over others. They want dominance. They want to make other people’s lives miserable. These are bad things, right? They cause an increase in entropy.
