It would be cool if they flashed up graphics with player headshots during the hurling. Granted I'm only a passive hurling fan but the Clare team could pass me on the street and I wouldn't know 90% of them because of the helmets. Just a quick mock-up but something... show more

Jesus, some reaction to this. Any jobs going @RTEmcbennettd?

Great idea Adam. I had never seen Tony Kelly’s face until the banquet. I was in Dublin last year and a boy said hello to me. I shook his hand. He said, “I’m Declan Hannon.”

This is actually one of the best ideas I’ve heard in a long time , the GAA should definitely look into it

No please don't Americanise the game. It's perfect as it is. Next you will want Beyonce playing at the half time interval

Beyonce playing at half-time in the All-Ireland hurling final would be fucking class

Not knowing who they are is kind of the point. Hence, no names on jerserys. GAA prides itself on being about the community, not individuals.

Yep they do that in American football a lot but of course the players have their helmets off a lot too on the sideline in that sport.

100% after the game when they were celebrating, I didn't know who half them were.

That's actually sort of where the idea came from. I saw a photo of the homecoming and I hadn't a clue who any of them were, despite knowing a good share of the names

A good idea. My prediction is that @GAA_BEO will have this for next years national league, whilst @RTEgaa won't have it in 3 years time.
