Students of the University of Hyderabad are protesting, citing concerns that the land is ecologically sensitive, rich in wildlife and also home to a water body. Several students were manhandled and detained by the police. Remember the Aarey protests? Bollywood celebrities protested against the Metro car shed in Aarey, even though their Film City, located deep inside Aarey, caused the most harm to the region. Today, they remain silent. And, the Congress, which was one of the leading voices against the Metro car shed in Aarey, is now using earthmovers to clear 400 acres of land in Kancha Gachibowli, Telangana.
