Heaven Birthday, O.A. "Bum" Phillips Born 102 Years Ago Today🤠🩵🕯️ A Tribute to the 'Patron Saint' of the #Oilers' "Luv Ya Blue" Phenomenon of the 1970s Head Coach and Leader of the Houston Oilers and New Orleans #Saints A "country gentleman" who completely rejuvenated a hapless franchise, restoring it to football prominence, while invigorating a city and fanbase in the process. Bum was one of #NFL history's most colorful characters, always good for an unforgettable country idiom. Unmistakably recognizable in his cowboy boots and Stetson hat, he instilled togetherness and indoctrinated team unity (both on and off the field) with the players on his Oilers and Saints teams of the 1970s and '80s — often allowing "family days" for his players at Saturday practice sessions and holding team pizza and beer nights during the season. Bum was an ingenious coach — a true innovative defensive mind, one who never seems to get his just due in that regard. Widely acknowledged as one of the inventors of the defensive numbering system that is currently used in the sport today, he — along with Chuck Fairbanks — took the basic, elementary principles of the college 3-4 defensive scheme and modernized it in earnest into a full-fledged pro base defensive alignment. Prior to this, elements of the pro 3-4 had only been seen in various substitution packages, most notably Bill Arnsparger's "53" defense for the Dolphins' Super Bowl teams. The linchpin of the alignment was future Hall of Famer Curley Culp, who Bum deployed as the proverbial "eye of the hurricane" at the newly-revolutionized nose tackle position. His play in 1975 would garner him NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors by the NEA. In 1975 — his first season as head coach of the Oilers — Phillips led #Houston to its first winning season in eight years and its first 10-win season since 1962. In 1978, Bum navigated the Oilers to their first postseason appearance in nine years, and from 1978 through 1980, led Houston to three consecutive postseason appearances — something that had not occurred since the first three seasons of the franchise's existence, 1960 through 1962. During his six seasons as head coach of the Oilers, Bum recorded five winning campaigns and four seasons with 10-or-more victories. In 1978 and again in '79, his teams would succumb to their fierce AFC Central rival — the eventual back-to-back Super Bowl champion Steelers — in the AFC Championship. After his time in Houston, Phillips moved on to coach the Saints from 1981 to 1985, leading the franchise to then only its second non-losing season ever in 1983. Heaven Birthday to a true original in every sense of the word🤠

"Forget the game, it's gonna break my man's spirit" (1996) Former Nets coach and NCAA legend, John Calipari, talks about the time his rookie, Kerry Kittles, put 17 points on Jordan in the first quarter, a 32-18 lead for the Nets. Jordan looked at Calipari and said "👌" meaning "no more points" and wouldn't even let Kittles touch the ball again. In the 2nd quarter, Kittles got zero shots and After 5 minutes, Calipari took the rook out to protect his spirit from being broken. He played the whole 3rd quarter and got one shot, a miss. By the time he was back in the game offensively, the Bulls were up 21 and Phil Jackson emptied the bench.. Kittles played the entire 4th quarter vs. Bulls reserves in a 113-81 loss. Michael Jordan locking in on defense was one of the 10 greatest defenders ever at any position. And he could lock season after season after season after season after season after 5 more f...ckin seasons while the whole time also being the apex predator at the other end of the floor. No matter whether it's about his great performances, the fear he put into opponents, his aura, when EVERYBODY tells the same story about you no matter who it is, that's true legend. That's the true definition of We Are All Witnesses, not just some cool slogan for an unproven player who was "chosen." We saw Jordan BECOME the GOAT and then we saw him time and time again, put a stamp on it, level up, and prove himself the most worthy there's ever been of the title. This is just one of the many eyeWITNESS accounts and one of the countless reasons that nobody is touching Jordan in my lifetime or yours. Don't do drugs.

The Bradford Bulls have unveiled a modern new look, replacing its 30-year old logo with a new identity, representing an exciting new era for the club. The new logo is part of a full club rebrand that represents a new Bulls for the 2026 season, following its return to the Super League. Keen to reflect the changes the club has been through over the last three years, on and off the field, the logo has been modernised but draws elements of its brand identity from its history. The iconic V from the Bulls’ glory era is represented in the head of the Bull. Whilst the new Bullhorn font is more dynamic, it retains the colours and the curved structure of the logo it replaces. The two halves of the bull's shoulders represent a rugby ball, whilst the four stars symbolise the club’s four Super League titles. The new emblem will be incorporated into all branding over the coming months, with fresh merchandise and the new kit hitting online and physical stores this month. Jason Hirst, CEO at Bradford Bulls, said: “Rejoining the Betfred Super League 2026 and full-time professionalism heralds another new era for our great club. “There are striking similarities to 30-years ago when Super League, professional summer Rugby League and Bradford Bulls were all born. “Today’s changes, whilst not as seismic as our name change in 1996, are nevertheless an important day in our club’s history. Our new club crest perfectly captures the direction of the future Bradford Bulls. “It’s more confident, aggressive and defiant, which is exactly the philosophy and approach we’ll be taking into Super League, both on the field and off it, in terms of our marketing and media approach. “Whilst we have the same heart, the same pride, we’re also coming back as a different beast. “Everyone in UK Rugby League has an opinion on Bradford Bulls. That’s fine, you’re entitled to one. To all our loyal fans, let’s embrace our next collective challenge and hit Super League full on, with numbers, colour, noise and passion. Loved, hated, or adored, but never ignored – RUN with the Bulls!”

Grounding can significantly reduce, if not eliminate, jet lag in 15–30 minutes. The earth's electric field varies by location, time of day, season, and lunar position. The body is designed to read these variations. They function as a zeitgeber — a biological clock-setter — processed in the brain's master clock: the suprachiasmatic nucleus of the hypothalamus. Clint Ober — former cable television executive who pioneered the global "earthing" or "grounding" movement — discovered this accidentally during a cortisol study. He measured salivary cortisol every 4 hours for 24 hours in 12 subjects before and after one month of sleeping grounded. Flight attendants in the study commuting between San Diego and New York arrived with cortisol profiles 3 hours off. After 15 minutes barefoot on the ground — cortisol profile reset to local time. Jet lag gone. Dr. James Oschman — biophysicist and cellular biologist — saw this firsthand. A colleague arrived from the West Coast with a bad case of jet lag. He told her to take off her shoes and stand on the grass for 15 minutes. She came back completely transformed. Jet lag gone. Ober's explanation: "The rhythms of the earth reset your circadian profile as soon as you touch the earth." Dr. Gaétan Chevalier — biophysicist and lead researcher at the Earthing Institute, 20+ peer-reviewed studies on grounding — confirmed independently. Multiple reports from people grounding on arrival after long-haul flights. No jet lag. Consistent across locations and time zones. The body picks up the frequency signature of local time and resets its internal clock. The earth's negative charge is stronger during daylight hours when the sun is shining. Weaker at night. Different by location. Different by season. Electrons carry location-specific vibrational frequency. The body is designed to read this. Your circadian system didn't evolve reading light alone. It evolved reading the earth too.

Asked Nuggets coach David Adelman about the season that Jaylen Brown has had, and he gushed about Brown as both a player and a person. "The the elite shooting from mid range is such a big deal in our game, it's the late-clock ability, his overall size, his ability to play in the middle of the floor, which is really hard to come double people and not give up the three point line to a team like they have, I would just say his continued evolution in his game. "He's an elite, All-Star player, two-way player. I just watched him grow over the years, not just the championship year, but with Jayson Tatum, obviously out, more responsibility falls into his hands, and I thought they did a great job building around him for this particular season, with all the shooting that surrounds him." "He's a problem. He's not fun to watch on tape when you have to play against him. I'm a fan of his, just as a pure basketball person, not just as a coach. Actually got to spend some time in Africa, he was such an impressive person. He's good for the NBA. He's going to be a probelm for us tonight." "There was an Africa game that I coach in, that he played in. They used to do that yearly in South Africa. It's an amazing event. He came down there for that. And some of the events that we had to do -- humanitarian stuff, you go out and you see these communities, and just to see his investment in it was really impressive. And he was at a much younger age then. And I remember him in the bubble, speaking up at meetings and things like that." "Some people are born to lead. He definitely stands out as one of those people."

And so it comes to pass that we are finally put out of our misery, on the last game of season, and perhaps worst of all, at the expense of Tottenham staying up. Yes, it hurts. It's probably the worst feeling you can experience as a football fan. Some of us have been through it and out the other end, and for some of us this is the first time. If there is one huge positive to come out of this utterly dreadful season, then without question, it is us, the fans. We have come a very, very long way since a small group of us got together in 2022. This year in particular, we have exploded into action, and none of it would have been possible without the commitment given and the belief shown by so many people in this group. Truly, thank you to everyone who has helped us to get to where we are. We have brought friendships together. We have shown some much needed community spirit. We have created the pre-match concourse (which was absolutely insane today by the way). We have self organised our fan-made flags, adding some character and visual atmosphere to the stadium. We have funded and organised a tifo tribute to Ludo, one of our greatest West Ham heroes of all time. We have trialled vocal sections in the ground. And we won't be stopping here. In fact, we're just getting started. As well as the positives of having no VAR, no tourists, less commerialism, winning more (hopefully), and a whole year without having to listen to Gary Neville, a season in the championship gives this group a huge opportunity to organise ourselves properly and become a permanent fixture in a stadium that so badly needs something. Once the dust has settled, we will turn our attention towards planning for next season. We encourage anyone who wants to be surrounded by likeminded vocal fans to relocate to 142 - 147. Again, thank you everyone for believing in the IWA project. Enjoy your summers, and the further World cup disappointment with England.. We build from the bottom, and rise to the top. ⚒️

In 2007, Curt Cignetti joined Nick Saban's first staff at Alabama. He served as the WRs coach and recruiting coordinator. During his time with Saban, the Crimson Tide had a 12–0 regular season in 2008 and a 14–0 national championship season in 2009. Alabama won 29 consecutive regular-season games. Cignetti played a role in recruiting and developing key players, like Julio Jones, Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram, and linebacker Dont'a Hightower. The 2008 recruiting class featured six future first-round NFL draft selections. Cignetti emphasizes tempo, physicality, and discipline. His practices are designed to be "fast, physical, and relentless" while remaining smart, disciplined, and poised. He frequently frames execution as "one play at a time," with each snap treated independently to build consistency over the course of a game. What he has done at Indiana has been described as a deliberate culture reset—professionalism, accountability, and a "winning mindset"—paired with a higher practice tempo and tighter organization. Cignetti has also said he prefers efficiency over sheer volume in practice, using fewer of the allowable sessions or hours and focusing on pace and organization to simulate game pressure. Analysts often link Cignetti's approach to his tenure on Nick Saban's Alabama staff, particularly regarding evaluation, roster construction, and sustaining culture through clear expectations. Saban said Indiana's rapid turnaround reflected Cignetti's evaluation and culture work amid frequent roster changes, adding that Cignetti "has done a really good job as a head coach." His public tone and on-field identity are unapologetically aggressive, noting his "attack" ethos and unwillingness to "play nice. Earlier national profiles also traced how his methods and messaging traveled from prior stops to Indiana as part of the program's turnaround. Former players and coaches have described Cignetti as an exacting teacher and an intensely focused preparer, sometimes calling him a "cocky nerd" for his combination of blunt candor and studied approach to the job. He is known for marathon film sessions in which he repeatedly rewound plays to critique players' footwork and assignments and for occasionally stepping into drills himself when quarterbacks failed to execute a rep, reinforcing his standards for precision and preparation. He prefers concise, high-tempo practices that typically last about 90 minutes, emphasizing efficiency over volume, and he stresses eliminating "self-imposed limitations" while delivering feedback that players have characterized as direct yet constructive.
