we talk way too little about how attentive ilya is. he notices where shane put his things. he looks to shane to answer first, allowing things to be on his terms. he notices shane’s behaviorial patterns and knows how to handle his emotions when he gets overwhelmed. #heatedrivalry

my favorite detail of this scene is when Ilya spots Shane and he realizes he's coming in his direction he takes a deep breath, says "okay" and chugs his beer like he's mentally preparing himself for this conversation that he's been anticipating since the day Shane left his house

this is one of my favourite autistic shane moments - ilya’s sarcasm slightly goes over his head and he doesn’t realise that ilya is poking fun at the fact he’s fluent in french but he still finds the joke endearing. it’s just such a sweet moment

when ilya sees shane approaching him at the all star game he whispers “okay” to himself before finishing off his beer, hyping himself up for what he thinks is going to inevitably be shane telling him about his engagement to rose. he was genuinely worried he’d lost shane for good

ilya noticed shane started to panic when his dad saw them so he said "do you want me..." like he was ready to leave but shane said no bc he needed him the most in that moment and didn't push him away :( my babies :( this detail is very precious

I’ve hardly seen anyone talk about this scene but it’s one of the sweetest to me. Ilya’s look when Shane says Hayden is calling, his annoyed reaction after Shane mentions they had a new baby and Shane saying “You’re the baby” makes this scene so cute. 🥹🤍

remembering that ilya never apologized for his emotional distance after shane’s first time or vegas but he apologized immediately when he cried in front of him, he really thinks the worst thing he can do is be vulnerable
