Violent, explicit, public statements. And yet, no charges. Why? Because the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions concluded that it fell into that infamous grey zone covered by Freedom of Religion. Because in the Criminal Code, there was still a strange exception. A loophole. A hole in the fence. You could say just about anything, as long as you said: “it’s in a religious text” or “it’s my belief.” And suddenly, what is criminal in the street became tolerated in a prayer.

We need to get back to the position of Paul when he went to Corinth: "I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ and Him crucified.' We mustn't be trying to preach philosophy or politics or things of that kind. We must go back to this New Testament message and realize on top of that, that without the power and demonstration of the Holy Spirit, even the preaching of that message will be in vain."

Willy Rice says they’ve forgotten that “Billy Baptist” matters. “Jerry Vines used to talk about Billy Baptist in his great sermon, ‘A Baptist and his Bible.’ And he created a character of the ordinary Baptist layman or pastor. I think some of our leaders have forgotten about Billy Baptist. Okay, sure, you dunked on some guy at a microphone and made yourself look good. Is that what we want to be? Doesn't that Pastor matter? Shouldn't his question be taken seriously? Should we really want to make fun of him, is that what we want to do? I think that's the problem. We've got to get back to where that guy at that microphone matters.”
