DSS is at heze bay where the illuminate has taken huge swaths of space, yet the bot divers are all on the bot front for a planet that is 16h for defense and are winning without the DSS. less than 8500 bug divers on currently. you have less than 3400 illuminate divers. maybe stop ignoring the illume front for your oil addiction.

Seriously, I must admit, at times bug divers going the "it's more fun, bots are too hard" blah blah blah during Bot or Squid MOs. Those, at times, are reasonable. But like, when did Thanos snap half of the community's IQ away 😭

I feel like the retconning of the decision is actually a bad thing. Ignoring all of the strategic points of the decision (or lack thereof), by having Arrowhead come in and change it, what ACTUALLY happened here? The community made a decision, and Arrowhead said "nuh uh" instead of letting the consequences play out. The vote didn't matter. While it kind of fits the "theme" of HD2 for "managed democracy", it's terrible practice to let your community have a voice in an active game and then just ignore it. This could have been a genuinely good moment to have player agency actually matter, even if it was detrimental overall to the war effort. "Hey, idiots. You made a dumb decision. Here are the consequences. Think next time." Retconning this it's just a reinforcing the idea that Arrowhead won't let us go off script and that our choices don't really matter. I like HD2 and the decisions that follow from community input. And that should include the stupid choices that bite us in the ass.

We gotta just walk away, everyone else has and we are left with a minority who love the core gameplay fps side but are intellegent and we are stuck with a 70% majority Gibbon population and a studio of imbecile leads.

Clasa. A planet neither enemies nor helldivers are capable of accessing. Receiving the DSS so it can send eagle storms over an entire planet of fucking nothing of immediate value. I mean... I used to think you're too negative but now I think you're right. It's shockingly stupid.

The DSS has traveled through enemy territory before, why shouldn't theirs be able to too? If you don't recall we had a planet surrounded by enemy forces in the squid front and the DSS had no problem getting there.

I would say its AH’s responsibility in not translating in game mechanics well enough for the casual player to understand what is needed to be done without independently having to visit websites like Helldivers Companion. They’re the problem, not the community.

Yeah, so where was A.S.S. ? It didn't come close to an orbit of attacked planet nor any planet in sector. Varylia 5? It was attacked from another sector. You know what happened last time we put DSS close to attacked region? We got it put on bench for repairs u moron.

This proves that you can put the most stupid choice down and people would still choose it over the actual best choice. And the choice was so bad that the game devs had pity on the divers who didn’t vote for clasa. Don’t care if they retconned it. Least Arrowhead is smart.

The only possible defense I can come up with doesn't even work with in-game logic, I can see putting the DSS on Clasa so it can quickly warp to whichever planet the bot station arrives at but the game doesn't care about travel distance/time so long as a path is open. So I dunno

The only ""reasonable"" justification I can think of was that the Helldiver's knew that Clasa was the incorrect and bs choice but deliberately chose it as a form of protest against the devs for how the game's story is being handled or something like that

I think like 10 people voted for Clasa as a joke and then like everybody else saw it had the majority and just followed like a herd.

To be fair the dispatches kept reiterating to "keep in mind avaliable intel" and Clasa had the data center in it, it would make sense for the Automatons to want to destroy their intel before its decrypted. And we didnt know how The A.S.S works so maybe it could jump supply lines
