Deporting illegal residents and properly managing the border is not a far-right policy, but rather close to the basics of normal state governance. It can be seen as a phenomenon that arose when some political forces and the media began attaching labels based on the person speaking rather than the content of the policy.

What is missing from all of these old vids of Dems speaking about being tough on immigration, is that now you act as though those speeches are actually what they thought and were trying to do. Most people at the time realized they said one thing and were going do the opposite.
