It's a positive feedback loop. Weird losers become teachers > are enraged by people who don't agree with them hard enough > Antagonize and discourage people who disagree from becoming teachers > produce a generation of teachers who are even bigger, weirder losers.

The “you’ll never carry a calculator with you everywhere you go” math teachers 🤣

oh no, they'll have to think for themselves or find a way out

It's like banning calculators. Yes, for the initial instruction, it's good for them to have a firm understanding (something we've been failing at with math). But we need to start designing curriculums around AI. We don't just need to account for its usage, but learn how to properly apply it.

Lmao “math is institutionally racist” these always get me rolling

US education has gone to hell, but before learning to use tools like calculators or AI you must first learn how to do the thing yourself manually or the "education" is worthless.

US needs to adapt or prepare to be left behind.

There's no need for AI in primary education. The only technology you need through middle school is a chalk board and a composition notebook. Even a calculator is enough technology to get people to totally shut their brain off.

There is no reason to use AI in elementary school.

It's probably because the kids are just having the AI do the work, zero verification.

This is decent. Why outsource basic shite to bots.

The difference between those who adapt to new technologies and those who don't. Well done!

Oh no. All of those illegal aliens aren't going to receive a competitive education...

Still.. i get my news from psyopanime 💎

I remember how my professors back in high school and college had to rush us through finishing our curriculum books on algebra and trigonometry. There was no time to break things down to the students who didn't get lessons outright on first go. AI may help assist in solving that.

Sitting in rows, learning at the pace of others is a concept from the late 1800s and we haven't advanced since

The molecule you included looks like one of the most volatile and unstable chemicals I've ever seen. Bonds of different lengths between the carbons, angles less than 109 degrees.

Why there are so many useless people on our side of the world.

I 100% with this decision. AI can multiply ability, school should help you get said ability ,because it doesn't matter how much you multiply by 0, it's still 0.

8th grade level? that's an overestimate.

i aint really too mad bc these kids are lazy and unable to figure shit out on their own without chatgpt. thus when they grow up they wont even be able to order a pizza

Wow simping for technocrats is so based bro, what's next, Israhell is our ally actually?
The comparison is facetious because they also banned AI in classrooms in China. The techno-fantasy here is still just a fantasy with no merit.

Now think why this is happening, it couldn't be that law-makers are swayed to make this decision in order to set back the advancement of the population l. Surely couldn't be a reason for NYC needing more people that lack critical thinking skills

Sorry you can't cheat by using AI and making yourself purposefully retarded by shifting all your intellect to a fucking computer.

Then there is only one path that leads with this policy... falling behind in AI era... Dont look suprise when China is already ahead with AI.

But no ban on teachers using AI to create assignments? How very odd.

What do you make of statement "you have to learn to walk before you can run"?

One extreme leftist said: "AI bad"

Use this AI guided course if you want to learn a topic (just about anything, Try it):

Nah, you're wrong on this specific topic. There's very solid research behind writing by hand and forgoing computers in the early years of education. It makes a huge difference in brain development and retention of information.

dumbest ruling on AI i've seen so far. they'll just get around it, and the teachers cant stop them at all. qalso what's stopping parents from just enrolling students in other schools or doing home schooling?

I almost feel like it's not news til you've had a crack at reporting it.
