.@TheDamaniFelder here’s a couple important facts about #Juneteenth 1. The @texasdemocrats governor at the time was Pendleton Murrah 2. @USArmy Gordon Granger also ordered Pendleton to be ARRESTED for active Rebellion 3. Murrah fled to Mexico to avoid US justice

After that magical switch, only one switched parties. Strom Thurmond. He also had a biracial daughter who he put through SC State University. Fritz Hollings and the rest stayed Democrat.
