As a former Nashvillian, I would have been excited to have this discussion 10-20 years ago and see the benefits while I lived there. As a frequent visitor, I know I'll benefit anyway whenever I'm in town. In any case, I'm so glad this discussion is happening now. Thank you Mayor!

Increase sales tax. Follow that up with increased property tax. Homeowners insurance rising and covering less. Auto insurance going up because of all the uninsured drivers and car theft. And you want us to stay. The people that can afford to leave will be the ones to leave.

And none of this would still ever get out near us in the neighborhoods of Hermitage. We still don’t even get trash pick up. I’ll just keep driving Freddie. Can we get a voucher from this tax to put towards my gas?
