One day you sang “So long, farewell, to you my friends, goodbye for now, until we meet again” for the last time and had no idea. Out of the Box ran on Playhouse Disney from 1998 to 2004. Two hosts named Tony and Vivian ran a clubhouse built entirely out of cardboard boxes, where neighbourhood kids showed up every episode to make crafts, sing songs, and put on little plays. The whole set was painted cardboard and recycled materials. 82 episodes across three seasons. And every single one ended the same way, with Tony and Vivian singing a goodbye song called “Until We Meet Again.” If you watched, you knew every word. You sang it back at the TV without thinking about it. Then one afternoon in the early 2000s, the episode ended, the song played, and you got up and went on with your day. You didn’t know that was the last time you’d ever watch it. Nobody told you. You just grew up.

Dogs will give you many of the happiest moments of your life. And one of the single saddest. Years of tail wags. Car rides. Quiet nights on the couch. Then one day your dog looks at you…you know it’s the last time. They're not afraid. They see the same person who fed them, walked them, and came home every day. To them, you were never just an owner. You were their whole world. And in their final moments…most dogs aren’t afraid. They wonder if you'll be okay. Did a dog ever change your life? PS I'm not too proud to admit that I choked up writing this. 😪

It does kind of look like you’re testing the waters. Why are you going to these states? AOC: I think that with the striking down of the Voting Rights Act, we are all being called to do everything that we can in this moment. I think this is an all-hands-on-deck situation. All of us need to be everywhere. I think it’s important to lead by example.
