Who’s Helping Myanmar After the Devastating Earthquake? Around 20 countries including China, Thailand, South Korea, ASEAN nations, the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia have sent rescue teams, paramedics, sniffer dogs and emergency aid to Myanmar after the country was struck by its most powerful earthquake in a century on Friday. Of those countries, 15 sent rescue teams comprising a total of 1,915 members as of Wednesday, the junta said. Another night of Russian terror against Ukraine: at least eight people were killed, including children, dozens more were injured, and residential buildings and civilian infrastructure were destroyed or damaged. Russia attacked Ukraine with 74 missiles (many of them ballistic) and 284 drones last night. ▪️ A direct hit by a Russian ballistic missile on a private home in Radushne, Dnipropetrovsk region, where a large family lived, killed both parents and their three children: a 6-year-old girl and two boys, aged 11 and 17. Two other children were rescued from the rubble. Among the eight injured is an 84-year-old woman in critical condition. Kalmaegi is one of the strongest typhoons to hit Southeast Asia this year, bringing torrential rains, hurricane-force winds, and massive waves. The storm has affected 24 Philippine provinces and is now moving toward Vietnam.
