Just now realizing I haven’t posted for a month 😅 Getting a lot done though: ✅ Spell System ✅ Leveling Up ✅ Resting in safe rooms ✅ The Handbook of Players ✅ Weepstone Town planned out ✅ Lots of art! I know FM26 has taken a bashing, but I can’t stop playing it. I think mainly because of the IP/OOP changes and tactical possibilities. I’ve changed my style of play this year. Less focussed on possession and having the ball. More focused on getting the ball forward with pace and purpose. It's working out nicely for us so far. Although this wasn't a goal, it's exactly how I want us to play. Vertical passes through the lines and into the big man up top as quickly as possible. #FM26 #FM26beta

I understand it now. The defense has multiple opportunities to effect your green window before you release the ball. Gather, Mid Air, Release. So you have to 100% fill the meter to leave no room for contest error. Don't try to get the meter in the green window if it's large, because that can/will change. Try to COMPLETELY fill the meter, so that if the window does change, it'll still be 100% full, resulting in a Green (I think).

While I have premium I definitely want to do a long post breaking down the main scene from this show that I obsess with. There's so much that I feel could be learned from it. Not just for expansion animators either. There's honestly a LOT that can be learned from how this show directed its expansion scenes that can be applied to even safe for work animations. Obviously yes, the expansion alone is really good. What makes it so good though is just the fact that there's things you pick up on that you likely don't even realize until you re-watch. I'm using this scene as an example as it's not AS good I would say, but it still has a lot going for it. One thing I've always loved from it that I want to use in my own animations someday is that the expansion sort of comes in waves as opposed to one consistent growth. In a way, it makes it feel more natural while also selling how tight the top is getting. It could have been accompanied by showing the knot getting tighter or smaller with each growth. It's a small part of the animation but just that one thing already adds another layer to appreciate. It's not like most expansion scenes where there's very little outside of just "growing" on its own. There's a bunch of little things that subtly improve it without being obnoxious. The first expansion scene has WAY more that I want to talk about honestly. Far more than this one has. It will probably be a really long post now that I think about it...

She is 100% a good player that would upgrade any team that would give her a chance to prove herself she still lacks some experience but is a very quick learner with a lot of free time on her hands She can rifle and she can awp she and can adapt very quickly to new positions with a little bit of help But one thing for sure she has the aim and the brain and alot of room to become even better than she is now.

Today (28 March). Dinner time: Punch cried out loud 🥺. According to the poster, he was chased and beaten by a big monkey and then hid inside the room to avoid the monkey. Later when it's dinner time , Shikano noticed. He stopped, called Punch, and signaled him to jump to Shikano 😭❤️. Punch immediately jumped and hugged Shikano tightly 🫶. He then put Punch on his shoulder while Punch was still crying. Punch's face turned so red too 🥺. Guess he also lost the appetite cause he only took some bites (although it's his fave food) and then continued to hug Shikano tightly. In the end without trying to put Punch down, Shikano directly brought him inside. Thank you, Shikano, for calming helping Punch, calming him, and put him on your shoulder 🫶. 🎥: pupil1415 Threads

I've been testing out Windows 11's new Haptic Signals feature on compatible hardware, and I think I love it. I'm someone who yearns for small UX details like this, and I'm so happy to see Microsoft leaning into subtle but quality UX implementations like haptics across the Windows Shell. These new Haptic Signals provide a subtle bump when interacting with certain UI elements and actions, such as snapping app windows or dragging files in File Explorer. The feedback response feels great and intentional, and makes using the OS feel more satisfying. There's still room for improvement, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't impressed with this first implementation. It's only supported on a handful of devices for now, but that should change over time. I've always loved the haptic feedback layered throughout Google Pixel phones, and now Windows is getting its own version of it. More UX niceties like this, please!

I had the same thought so I've been playing with it in nanochat. E.g. here's 8 agents (4 claude, 4 codex), with 1 GPU each running nanochat experiments (trying to delete logit softcap without regression). The TLDR is that it doesn't work and it's a mess... but it's still very pretty to look at :) I tried a few setups: 8 independent solo researchers, 1 chief scientist giving work to 8 junior researchers, etc. Each research program is a git branch, each scientist forks it into a feature branch, git worktrees for isolation, simple files for comms, skip Docker/VMs for simplicity atm (I find that instructions are enough to prevent interference). Research org runs in tmux window grids of interactive sessions (like Teams) so that it's pretty to look at, see their individual work, and "take over" if needed, i.e. no -p. But ok the reason it doesn't work so far is that the agents' ideas are just pretty bad out of the box, even at highest intelligence. They don't think carefully though experiment design, they run a bit non-sensical variations, they don't create strong baselines and ablate things properly, they don't carefully control for runtime or flops. (just as an example, an agent yesterday "discovered" that increasing the hidden size of the network improves the validation loss, which is a totally spurious result given that a bigger network will have a lower validation loss in the infinite data regime, but then it also trains for a lot longer, it's not clear why I had to come in to point that out). They are very good at implementing any given well-scoped and described idea but they don't creatively generate them. But the goal is that you are now programming an organization (e.g. a "research org") and its individual agents, so the "source code" is the collection of prompts, skills, tools, etc. and processes that make it up. E.g. a daily standup in the morning is now part of the "org code". And optimizing nanochat pretraining is just one of the many tasks (almost like an eval). Then - given an arbitrary task, how quickly does your research org generate progress on it?

Solo staking, a conservative approach to changing the protocol etc are all part of this He also spoke on how new technology is a reset & creates a level playing field where the game starts again from zero with bringing a lot more people right to the frontier We are seeing this with AI (and zk too), where a noob developer can still catch up to a veteran with good prompt engineering. He shared his own experience of building an android app for the first time using AI despite having no prior experience in it Before people would say that EF needs to write more documentation. Now it's more relevant to show how deep seek integrations with solidity and Java can help easily create new Ethereum apps He sees AI as making it much easier for newcomers to build web3 apps & is making a push in this direction

Nick Dumesnil (California Baptist Baseball) has as much upside as anyone in the 2025 draft. With question marks early on about how he'd fare against the top arms in the country on the Cape, "Doomey" proved quickly as one of the best players in the summer league circuit. His hands start high with the bat coiled behind his head. While a somewhat unorthodox approach, he's able to get his bat head up and hands lowered upon loading. It's an explosive operation with elite bat speed, averaging as much as 79.9 mph in the CCBL (per @Blast_Bsbl). It's a consistent swing making hard contact and driving the ball to both gaps (led the CCBL with 12 2B). The quick hip hinge allows for a powerful on-time rotation through the ball as he barrels the ball at a high clip (up to 30.4% this summer per Joe Doyle). Then there's the speed. Doomey set the Brewster Whitecap SB record with 26 (27 ATT) in 36 G. His 96.2% success rate is the highest in league history for someone with 20+ steals in a season (per League Statistician). He gets good jumps on the base paths and good reads off the bat defensively. There is some swing and miss to his game. He walks at an average rate (8.6 BB% in the CCBL) and struck out just 12.9% of the time in the WAC but that went up to 21.7% this summer. There's some chase low out of the zone vs break and did way more damage vs LHP (.435/.469/.783; .348 ISO) than RHP (.247/.333/.337; .090 ISO). A true five-tool talent, Nick Dumesnil made a name for himself this summer on the Cape, and will soon be at the top of many teams' draft boards next July.

A true five-tool talent, Nick Dumesnil made a name for himself this summer on the Cape, and will soon be at the top of many teams' draft boards next July.

I went to a typical lower-income rural town in Guangxi, China... Here’s what I found. We go back to my girlfriend's hometown every year. We stay in a rural community on the outskirts of a town that I consider pretty big and busy, but is probably small in China terms 😅. Living there honestly didn't feel particularly different in terms of day to day comfort — fast internet, modern appliances, decent homes, cars and scooters everywhere, normal roads and all the everyday conveniences you'd expect. Many people here live at least partly off the land, growing crops both to eat and sell. Our family owns their home outright — no mortgage or any type of loan. Chinese people avoid bank loans wherever possible, almost allergic to the idea haha. Owning your house outright is very typical in these communities. This allows most of their income to go towards things like sending their kids to university, helping them buy apartments in bigger cities and funding retirement etc. And I actually love staying here though. Life is way more quieter and super chill. Beautiful scenery, friendly people who seem happier in general. Everyone seems to get by by helping and doing favours for each other. A family friend gave us a car to borrow for the week 🙏. We'd ride our scooters into town for food, late-night BBQ sticks or bubble tea, or head to the nearest larger town for bars, nightlife and karaoke. The town itself has everything you'd expect — multiple supermarkets, restaurants, schools and general stores. Although somehow much busier than plenty of Western towns 😂...Packed markets, really bustling and busy during the day The roads are perfectly decent too, nothing worse than you'd find a few hours outside a major Australian city. The closest big city with an airport is around two hours away and easy to reach with what seems like infinite buses haha. it's scruffier and less polished than China's major cities, to be expected obviously, same as anywhere. There's no railway station, DiDi or much food delivery — although some restaurants will deliver to your house for free, which was cool. Buses are frequent and the main form of public transport, connecting people to schools, larger towns and nearby cities. -- China haters will tell you how desperately impoverished and unliveable rural China is. But nah... It's just.. normal. 🤷‍♂️

I'm still in Busan, spending a quality time with my family here. I was unsuccessful in securing tickets for either day for Busan concert even though I tired till the end on Nol World queue and I needed some time to gather my thoughts and sort through my emotions😢 Tbh I felt really sad and helpless. But now that I think about it, this experience gave me a whole new perspective in a way.. I was roaming around outside of the stadium and found a spot where many neighborhood residents were gathered along with some Armys. We chanted and sang together too. The spot I found happened to be on a hill where a walking trail was connected. So, many locals who were passing by stopped to join and cheered together. Whenever Jin's face appeared on the screen, I couldn't help but notice even locals blurting out in excitement 'OMG, he's insanely handsome!' I am not gonna lie...I was really disappointed and disheartened before the concert as this ticketing and camping all day long experience in Nol Wolrd felt so out of my control.. But it is what it is and I guess that was as far as my luck in Busan would take me. At the end of the day, I'm still grateful that I was able to share the same space (in a way 😅) and be part of the experience with Seokjin on top of seeing my family here in Busan again this time of the year.
