Patriot ๐ซก Kid needs to quit being a gay fat pussy

Thatโs how I learned, but I was 3 or 4 and I had no vest. In a pool. Dad just pushed me in and stood there until I learned not to die.

@TheCensoredRock

Lucky kid got a vest I didnโt when I was tossed into the deep end

Youโre gonna learn today.

That's how they did it for me when I was 3. Boy did they have egg on their face while the lifeguard was helping me clear water from my lungs. I learned three lessons that day.

Next 30 minutes was probably the kid running and jumping in over and over again.

Hondo, by Louis L'Amour, had such a scene. John Wayne portrayed it in the movie. However, in that case the man and boy hadn't even met yet.

PLOT TWIST: They donโt even know each other

Had my kid in swimming classes at the age of 6 months. Then when he was 3, he decided he needed to jump off the diving board at the Y. Lifeguard said, as long as you're in the water to "catch him", go for it (I indeed did not "catch him") He'd pop back up and say "Again". After the 4th or 5th jump, the lifeguard shut him down๐๐ People were standing around, all shocked. I never understood the big deal๐คท Hell I begged to jump off the high dive at 5 and was allowed (did a fabulous belly flop and turned around and did it again, no belly flop). They need to learn to survive in water. Start then young.

Been there done that I was like that but my kids werenโt scared of anything go figure

I remember getting fear stuck once. I hated every second of it and started to back away. One of my brother's friends, grabbed me and shoved me right off the edge...right before I dropped, I smiled and said, "thanks". Sometimes you just need some jerk to give you a push.

Googled those lyrics and found out Google AI is ready to meet that Banjo Boy. ๐๐

Kids now get a vest? Pffft, soft.

Unpopular opinion: A real dad would have taught his kid to swim (life jacket!?!), have the courage to jump off that tiny cliff, and to obey him by that age.

From the start I was screaming at the screen "Throw the p*ssy in, he's got a life jacket, he won't drown..." Glad Dad heard me.

I had my boys doing this since very young. We up there nowadays ๐

My dad would throw me off cliffs and bridges and once I hit the water one of my older siblings would hold me under water to teach me how to hold my breath. Thatโs how I learned to swim. My momโs dad threw her and her sisters off a boat in the middle of Lake Michigan and told them sink or swim. I recon each generation gets a little softer on raising their children.

Yeah, throw your kid into a whirlpool. What could go wrong.

The clap at the end: โGood job!โ

Bring bullying back. Bring strong fathers back. We need more of this to repair our soft society and make real men again. Hard times create strong men.

It's called shitty parenting. At this age my dad was teaching me how to swim across the lake while being in a boat and always assuring me that I'm in control but he's always there if something untowards happens. How old is this kid? Like 10? This is bullshit.

Must do this to all boys. Being a man is hard. Start them early conquering fears.

@janefkndoe are these members of your family?

I think I recall this video from some time back. they were making a fuss about the guy being a bad father online, but I thought I recalled there was another video of the kid then running and happily jumping off himself, no longer afraid of the jump. Or maybe that was another kid

The moment he realized his wifeโs hoohaw wasnโt worth letting her raise a pansy.

At least he had a life jacket. I did not.

@OriginalRoddick Is that boy holding his nose? Weโll have to work on thatโฆ

Heck, at least he got to wear a life jacket. Thatโs more than what some kids get.

You done messed up your parenting when your son pinches his nose prior to entering the water.

Grew up across street from a lake. Kids didn't leave their yard until they knew how to swim. I was very young when I was tossed in by the grown-ups and began to learn. Stuff done in the 1960s get you thrown in jail these days.๐

Pops took the time to calculate the risk and also took into account that his Son was going to be BIG mad at him but did it anyway. GG.

Give a better speech and the boy will happily jump. Better yet, jump first and show him how its done. Real leadership leads the way.

Echoing others. Dad just kinda threw me into the pool. Or so I'm told. I don't remember it. I don't remember ever NOT knowing how to swim. So, mission accomplished.

Went to the comments expecting mostly horrified wussies defending the kid. I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong. Maybe thereโs hope for this world.
