For the past 40 years, the food industry's taken advantage of a loophole where they can ‘Generally recognize a food as safe GRAS.’ And 95 % of food ingredients now in our food supply have been self-identified as safe with no safety studies. Once you designate that loophole, you do not have to submit the ingredient or safety studies to the FDA and that loophole use has led to the FDA not knowing what's in our food. It could be 2,000 ingredients, it could be 10,000. We don't know. Why are we acting like our only two options are spray our food with chemicals or let weeds take over our farms?? It’s 2026. We have technology that can literally identify weeds and ZAP them with lasers. Farmers deserve better tools. Moms deserve cleaner food and America should be leading the innovation that gets us there.

Unlike federal workers, our federal contractors — that includes food service workers and janitorial staff who keep Congress running - did not receive back pay after the government shutdown ended. Ms. Willie has been a federal contractor for 44 years at the Library of Congress. During the shutdown she and her fellow UNITE HERE members joined me for lunch at my office. They missed paychecks during Republicans' government shutdown & had to find other ways to keep her bills paid. I'm fighting for our workers to get the back pay they deserve, and my Fair Pay for Federal Contractors Act would do just that. Congress should pass our bill immediately.

Funding for Coast Guard, TSA, FEMA, and so many others that keep our country safe and show up in times of need are at risk. THAT’S WRONG! I’m fighting to make sure we reopen our government and stand with our brave ICE agents and everyone at risk of losing pay because of Democrats.

And then you come home in the evening and you only have a couple hours to yourself before you have to go to bed and then do it all over again. And you arrive to the weekend and it's beautiful because you don't have to go into work, but it's over in a blimp and then you're right back onto the same cycle. I can’t believe this is real California Democrats are making American taxpayers pay for sidewalk food carts for street vendors in Los Angeles Yes, read that again. We are now going to be forced to pay to have our sidewalks flooded with food vendor carts like a 3rd world country “LA is set to give away free food carts to vendors as part of a sidewalk vending program. County leaders announced yesterday an additional $250,000 investment. Nearly 200 health code compliant food carts are going to be distributed.” If you haven’t been to California you have no idea how bad this issue already is…. You can literally find 10 illegal food vendors setup at a Walmart like you’re in Mexico
