I dealt with two things yesterday I could DIRECTLY lay at the feet of HUMAN software developers. In one case, a system would not let me replace the batteries because the batteries were expired. Yes, you read that right. I could not replace the batteries, to correct the problem, because the batteries were expired. TWO FREAKING HOURS trying to get that garbage to work, WASTED. Then, attempting to take interface cards from one machine to another, the origin machines would not let go of the cards because something was mapped to use them, but it would not tell me what was using them. I searched through over 300 configurations trying to find which one it was, to find NOTHING. THREE HOURS LATER, we wiped the whole machine to finally get it to free the cards up, only to then find out that the new version of the software on the target machine receiving the cards REMOVED SUPPORT FOR THE CARDS. Three and a half hours WASTED.
