I am so tired of the way the government talk about school attendance. They have no idea what it is like to be that child terrified of school, standing at the school gates unable to breathe because they’re so anxious. Who forces themselves into school day after day until they can’t anymore. Who is traumatised by the environment - the noise, the expectations, peers, anxiety. We HAVE to reframe the idea that school is the only way to get an education. Of course education is important. But the fear, anxiety and trauma school can cause for some of us is HUGE. Please try to understand. Full attendance is not necessarily the best way to meet every child’s needs. #School #SchoolAttendance #EBSA #Anxiety #MentalHealth

Girls deserve privacy and dignity; they deserve to feel safe at school. “For me, this situation got so stressful that I stopped using the bathroom at school. I just hold it until I get home because I don’t want to run into this boy in the bathroom. No girl should have to do that.” It’s alleged that this boy spends much of the school day lingering in the girls’ bathrooms. Many girls have complained about this behavior. The administrators told the girls that they were powerless to do anything about it and advised them to simply get over it. This was today at my sons High #School in #Florida These #fights happen weekly. It’s out of control. Several kids from the school are saying it was #gang related. Public school is no safe anymore. Wish I could afford better for my kids.

Friends! Another Big Day for us! The Triplets have their Jabs at the Vets today. Mum had to buy a new, bigger Cat Box because they can no longer all fit in the same one. She’s put it out already so they can get used to it. They seem to quite like it… they probably won’t like it quite so much later… #cats

I’ve coached a lot of games, probably close to 700 at this Peoria sports complex. It’s tough to see how bad these fields have regressed. I don’t know who’s to blame, but this is not it. It should be better. It’s a spring training facility.
