It's hard to explain 4⭐️ USC 2028 QB commit Trey Wright (Trey Wright), from Lone Star HS Football Recruiting... He's simply one of those #TXHSFB players you MUST SEE with your own eyes. He already has 1,110 yards and 14 TDs in THREE games. Human highlight reel. #FightOn

Ian Wright says Kylian Mbappe could go on to be the greatest World Cup player ever. Ian Wright: "Watching him the other day, when I went and watched him live against Iraq, you could tell there's something different about his energy and the fact that he is the leader of the team. Right, Pat? He's the leader of the team. You could see it. You know, almost like he's welcoming people in. You see the celebration with Dembélé, who has won a couple of Ballond'ors or could go on to win another one. He's embracing it. I think that he's gone to that place where he's the leader of this team, and he's not bothered about that. Just maturity as well." Roy Keane: "Is that just maturity as well." Ian Wright: "Yeah. I think so. Roy." Roy Keane:: "Getting a bit older, a bit wiser." Presenter: "He's 27 now. You know, he's been in the game for almost a decade." Patrick Viera: "He's a different player from the last World Cup. He's got more maturity. He understands the game much better, about how he has to bring the players around him because, at the end, he needs those players to perform." Presenter: "He's only two goals behind Messi in terms of World Cup scorers." Ian Wright: "Yeah, but when we look at it, he's won the World Cup when he was 18. He just missed out on penalties in '22, and now he's in another one. You know, we're talking about somebody who could probably go on to be the greatest ever in respect to the World Cup. But at the moment, at 27 now... it seems like he's in exactly the right place where he needs to be right now."

Frisco ISD has 12 schools but 0 have won a #uilstate football title. Lone Star is the only 1 to make a final losing in 2015 to Cedar Park. Jeff Rayburn has waited 10 years to get FLS back to the final. He graciously took a few minutes to talk. Scroll down to learn more about FLS! Led by dual threat QB Trey Wright & a slew of future CFB stars Ryder Mix (BOOMER) Davian Groce (Florida), Jordan Deck (Michigan) & Karece Hoyt (Baylor) among others, they'll be a test for Smithson Valley's stellar defense. They scored 58 on Dallas Highland Park in the quarterfinals, the team SV beat in the final last year, and 56 on Aledo, the most ever given up by them in 163 playoff games. The video in the tweet is from round 2 vs Georgetown (courtesy KTBC-TV Austin). They've put several alums in the NFL despite only being in existence since 2010. Ashton Jeanty, Nick Bolton, Jaylan Ford, Marvin Mims are all alums along with P.J. Washington of the Dallas Mavs. Frisco Lone Star does have state titles in girl's track (2013) & boy's soccer (2023). The school opened in 2010 the same year as SA Brennan meaning the school is 17 years younger than Larry Hill's tenure at Smithson Valley. The school is named after the 1996 movie Lone Star. Late in the 2016 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship, Villanova blew a 10-point lead. With 4.7 seconds left, UNC hit a 3-pointer to tie the game. Villanova's head coach, Jay Wright, called a timeout, and as his players walked to the huddle, they were all saying the same word: “Attitude.” “It's the most important aspect of our program,” Coach Wright explains in his book titled, Attitude. “We wear 'Attitude' wristbands. And when we break a huddle, we say '1, 2, 3, Attitude.'” The test of Attitude, Wright taught his players, is: “Where is your mindset after something bad happens to you?” Where is your mindset after you blow a 10-point lead? Where is your mindset after your opponent hits a 3 to tie the game with 4.7 seconds left? “When I looked into the eyes of our players,” Wright writes, “I saw no anger or regret. No one bemoaned [the UNC player's] 'lucky shot,' or that any of our guys had failed to stop him from grabbing the pass that led to that shot, or anything else.” Instead, “they were all saying, 'Attitude. Attitude. This is what we do. Attitude. This is what we do.'” With this mindset, the players returned to the court. Villanova's Kris Jenkins inbounded the ball to Ryan "Arch" Arcidiacono. Arch dribbled up the left side of the court, crossed half court, cut right towards the 3-point arc, where he underhanded a pass to Jenkins, who caught the ball with 1.3 seconds left, and, in perfect rhythm, jumped then released the ball with 0.6 seconds, and hit a buzzer-beater to win the 2016 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship. Takeaway 1: A primary indicator of physical fitness is recovery time. If you are doing all-out sprint intervals, for instance—people who are physically fit recover from one interval to the next faster than those who are not physically fit. “So then, what is mental fitness?” the mental performance coach Greg Harden likes to ask. “Mental fitness is about recovery time,” Harden says. It's about, as Coach Wright said, where your mindset is after something bad happens to you. After something bad happens, people who are mentally fit recover faster than those who are not. Takeaway 2: Just after Kris Jenkins hit the buzzer-beater, Coach Wright famously barely reacted. Before his guys went back on the court, he explained, “I processed all the potential scenarios.” Most likely, the game was going to go to overtime where UNC would ride their wave of momentum and win the game. “No matter the outcome,” Wright continued, “because of the way our players responded after UNC tied the game ["Attitude. Attitude. This is what we do."]—I felt like they had the greatest lesson in life. I felt like that was an accomplishment that would follow them through their lives.” Ryan Holiday once told me, “You have to get to a place where doing the work is the win and everything else is extra.” Wright got to that place. He had done the work to instill in his players a mindset, he said, “that they would carry with them for the remainder of their days on earth.” “In that sense, I knew we had already won.” Everything else was extra. - - - “The fact is, none of us control what happens to us in life—but we do control our responses to those circumstances...no matter how tough it gets or how much of a challenge you face in the final 4.7 seconds of a game.” — Jay Wright Follow Billy Oppenheimer for more content like this!

Been watching a lot of footage of 2028 QB and now Alabama commit Charles Scott Jr. According to 247 in 2025 the 6’5, 255 lb sophomore threw for around 3,600 yards and 41 TDS on 178 completions. Only throwing 4 INTs!!! Scott Jr (son of his high school coach) has obvious massive upside given his size. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that already as a sophomore, he has an SEC build. The Good: - Kid is LARGE, much like Alabama’s recent five star commit Elijah Haven, Scott’s size allows him a full view of everything going on around him on the field. Mechanics benefit from his size - strong throwing platform. - Flashes plenty of natural strengths, including an explosive arm that doesn’t seem to have to work very hard to push the ball vertically. - Even as a developing HS quarterback, Scott Jr already shows a lot of finesse. Accuracy in highlight tape (provided below from Scottboyz on YouTube) is on the upswing, especially on layered and touch passes. - Although not technically a massive run threat, Scott Jr, given his size, can stress defenders on the ground, especially in short yardage situations. Areas for Refinement: - Shows promise with timing routes, but will get better as he matures over the next couple of season. - Mechanics are not fully polished as to be expected from a young QB, but raw traits still shine. Footwork under pressure! - Will grow into faster processing speeds as he continues his path. Will need this as he makes the talent jump to the SEC. All-in-all, this is a rising recruit in the 2028 class - one that will garner a ton of attention over the next several months, especially now that Alabama fully seated at the head of the table. Another potential eval masterclass from Kalen DeBoer, Ryan Grubb, and Bryan Ellis. The scheme fit for Scott Jr is perfect at Alabama. The size and arm talent are there, with touch on the way. Combined with intangibles such as high football IQ (coaches son) and a very strong relationship with Tide staff - this is a solid pickup for Alabama. The QB position remains in great hands moving forward in Tuscaloosa.

Nate Burleson on former #Buckeyes and #Browns star Terrelle Pryor: "I told him earlier, 'You are one of the best all-around athletes to ever play in the NFL.' I know in a lot of people's eyes his career didn't have the same type of depth that maybe he wanted or his fans wanted. But from the perspective of his peers, we respected the hell out of him." In 3 seasons at Ohio State, Pryor had 6,177 yards and 57 TDs with another 2,188 rushing yards and 19 TDs on the ground. He also caught 2 TD passes. I remember watching him in person at Ohio Stadium. He was so far and away better than anyone else on that field. Not many quarterbacks who transition to wide receiver 3 years into their NFL career have much success doing so. But when he came to Cleveland, Terrelle Pryor kicked ass. In 2016, Pryor caught 77 passes on 140 targets for 1,007 yards and 4 TDs. He also rushed for a TD. He had 818 air yards, seventh-most in the NFL that year. Other than Josh Gordon in 2013, Pryor's 1,007 yards were the most by a Browns wideout since Braylon Edwards in 2007. Pryor's accomplishments go back to his high school days when he became the first player in Pennsylvania history to pass for 4,000 yards and rush for 4,000 yards. He led his team to a state-record 860 points scored in 2007. Congrats to Terrelle Pryor SR on being inducted into the National High School Football Hall of Fame. #DawgPound x NHSFootballHOF x Nathaniel E Burleson
