Here’s a thread of some of the features of Mike McCarthy’s West Coast passing game. All clips are taken from the Pittsburgh/Dallas contest from 2024, where Dak Prescott threw for 336 yards in a 20-17 Cowboys win. 1. Horizontal stretches. You can see how Dallas spreads its receivers from one sideline to another to widen the defense, then attacks the seams this stretch creates. Before the Senior Bowl game, Riley let a young fan pray over him. “Jesus I pray for you to help Riley with this game, not let him get injured, and let him be victorious.” Leonard finished the game 6/7 (88%) for 54 passing yards. The 1994 NFL MVP: Steve Young 30 years ago, Steve Young delivered what many consider as one of the greatest seasons in QB history, earning his second MVP in three years, and the fifth MVP for the 49ers franchise, which was the most of any franchise at that point.
