This was, no joke, the most emotionally devastating scene to come out of the entire The Simpsons franchise. When the movie broke what’s been the most important rule since 1989 (Marge will ALWAYS fucking love Homer, no matter what), we knew that Homer FUCKED UP, BIG TIME.

What this scene does so well is even though you know for a fact that they will be back together by the end of the film, it still sells the idea that the characters at that moment believe it is the end. The Simpsons done many marriage crisis episodes and they typically feel forced
