All this AND - it helps to simply put an NB character in front of people with literally no exposure to folks different from themselves. It's one more point of contact that diffuses and reduces bigotry and hate. Slowly the needle shifts and culture changes, but it does.

I will not intentionally misgender someone I meet irl if they tell me their pronouns. I don’t care enough to insult someone for who they are. But if I unintentionally use the wrong pronoun for a fictional character i will also not care enough to feel bad or apologize for it lmao

The game would play exactly the same if it was all white dudes and the point of overwatch's roster is representation. from the very beginning that was the point. how do players still not understand the whole point of why overwatch's roster is as diverse as it is?
