Incorrect. There is load capacity for an intact floor space. If that load capacity is exceeded by the falling mass of building above, the floor and supporting members fail and residual load is spread among remaining members. If the remaining members cannot support the remaining load, the floor collapses onto the next. The contribution of force to the next floor below is that of the floor that just collapsed, PLUS the load from above. Anyone who has built a house of cards knows that a single section collapsing usually brings down the whole house. This situation is much more severe. The inertial force of dozens of floors above in free fall for even the distance of a single floor is IMMENSE. It's not a design criteria considered in building construction at this scale.

If one floor collapses....with 10 above it...that means 11 floors are falling onto the next one below...then 12, 13, 14 etc and won't stop until it hits the bottom.
