Whenever I hear Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto, I always wish that opening theme would somehow return before the end of the opening movement. Still, Pyotr knew best, and I happily defer to his better judgment.

Theย Piano Concerto No. 1, composed during the romanticist era of symphonic. If you like Tchaikovsky, try work from others in that era: Chopin; Liszt; Schubert; Mendelssohn; maybe even Rachmaninoff-considered a modernist composer. I incorrectly call him a "neo-romantacist".
