If the items can literally put you 12th when you're 1st with no reason I see very reasonable that UC is meta. Nerf the items and UC will get nerfed

Don't worry, hopefully Sega will Nerf Items and bagging soon so people wont need to use ultimate charge. Until then we Ult Charging 🥰

at least you can still play as your fav character without any meta issue

Another thing that can make it hard to hit UC people is also the network, remeber on your end you could have hit that person with an item but on there end you missed or they blocked it, so it won’t matter if they had invincibility or not if there was desync

these games will always be the most fun when we haven't figured out the top meta yet

tech drift itself is not the problem, i think (friction drift needs to be buffed, for sure) the problem is how long lvl 4 lasts for, considering how fast you can get it back with tech drift

Gotten far with just Quick Recovery, Slipstream Bonus and Ring Boost

At least people can use any character and vehicle combination they want 🤷‍♂️ If the game wasn’t so heavily skewed in favour of items & RNG mechanics players wouldn’t feel the need to all use the invincibility gadget.

I used Lvl1-3 and Ultimate Charge during the network test and now I can't even use it 😭 I do hope Sega listens about item balancing so people can be creative again

imo this game may be more comparable to MKWii not only because of the meta choices, but because of how buggy the game is too. 🫠

That's the end product of having anything competitive. Having a meta is something you just cannot prevent. Otherwise there is no point in having different characters and characteristics.

The problem is not the ultimate charge build, but the fact that if you get hit by a single item on the final lap you are done, plus the fact that the wisp/triple wisp doesn't give you that much more speed and only help you take a shortcut. The real problem is item balance

Admittedly the only reason I'm paying attention to that meta is to see if that will help me S rank those bloody time trials...
