All citizens of Uganda should respect UPDF soldiers, these great heroes. They have sacrificed a lot to make our country peaceful. That's why whenever I find a soldier on the way, I salute him or her. Let me take this opportunity to thank H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and Gen. CDF Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba for making UPDF a very strong army in our region. All soldiers are proud of you, sir. Those who think that they can disorganise our beautiful country are daydreamers!!!. Long live God's Army. Uganda Peoples' Defence Forces (UPDF)

I have no doubt that Ukraine will win. Fellow Ukrainians, we should all have self-confidence. I am proud of everyone who fights for Ukraine, destroys the occupiers, and retakes our positions. I am proud of those who are currently serving in the trenches and combat posts, those who are training our warriors, and those who are producing arms, ammunition, and equipment for Ukraine. I am proud of those educating our minors, treating people and rescuing them after strikes, providing normal life to our cities, and giving us power. I am proud of everyone who gives us confidence—our parents and our children; those who love us; those who pray for us and our victory; and those helping us from every corner of the world. I am proud of those who survived cellar and occupation, but have not given up. Proud of all those who make every effort every day to liberate Ukraine and Ukrainians from Russian captivity. I am proud of you, the people of Ukraine! I am proud of you, the Ukrainian warrior!

Grateful to the Legal Defense Fund and grateful to be in Selma today to talk about this moment. This is our time and our opportunity to build a country that those who came before us hoped for — and that those who come after us deserve.

Chants celebrating terrorism and calling for the murder of Jews. Jewish people and fellow Australians, take careful note of who has chosen to align themselves with those who want to kill us.

We are working hard to restore order and control to the immigration system. It’s what the public expects and it disarms those who do not take public life seriously. Those who seek to divide us do not care about our great country.

BREAKING: "We can't allow these crazy people to let us be afraid. We have to keep moving forward, showing up, doing our job, celebrating our country, and doing what we know is right. "But certainly we'd like to see the rhetoric against this president and his supporters toned down because it is inspiring these crazy people across the country to target not just the president, but those who work for him and those who support him, and it must end." - White House Press Office

Loving our country isn’t just waving the flag on the front lawn or celebrating with your neighbors on the Fourth of July. It’s choosing to believe in our founding ideals — and knowing that it’s on us to make them real. Happy Independence Day 🇺🇸

At the Kenya High Commission in Kampala it has been our delight to host His Excellency Prof. Kithure Kindiki, EGH, Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya, who led a high level Kenyan delegation to the swearing-in and inauguration ceremony of His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as President and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces of the Republic of Uganda. Museveni: Africa’s enemies want to see us fighting. South Africans also have businesses in Uganda, and our enemies would want us to retaliate, but that will not happen. I have spoken to President Ramaphosa, and we shall begin the process of compensating those who lost property.

This weekend is a time for the country to stop, reflect, and remember our armed forces who have kept and continue to keep us safe. We say thank you to everyone who has served, those who continue to serve, and their families, who sacrifice so much.

Here’s the full quote and clip for the intro: “Don’t expect a divisive Welcome to Country from me. This beautiful country belongs to all Australians – born here and those who have come to join us. I would like to acknowledge the men and women that have sacrificed their lives for our democracy, our freedom, for our country. And also to those migrants, those people that have worked extremely hard and those Australians born here with their blood, sweat and tears to build this nation into the beautiful country that it is today.” Imperfectly delivered – but an undeniable message of unity that will resonate with millions of Australians.
