It's no secret that GOAT BitVM3 is close to launch. Before mainnet ships, the work is on the table: the whitepaper is live, the research is published, and the implementation is under audit.

Settling a BitVM2 dispute requires running a full Groth16 verifier inside a Bitcoin script - hundreds of kilobytes, past Bitcoin's limits. GOAT BitVM3 moves proof verification off-chain, into a witness-encryption protocol (BABE) built on garbled circuits. The expensive step never runs on Bitcoin. The on-chain rebuttal that settles a dispute is a 64-byte witness.

Our research contribution, Deferred Binding, solves the problem that stood between this design and a live bridge: chain state, sequencer commitments and watchtower data are only known at withdrawal time, and vanilla witness encryption cannot bind them. Cut-and-choose across 181 instances puts the soundness error at 2^-40.
