But what's important about tonight is to understand actionable intelligence, things that actually affected our security of our elections were not being told to the President. What happened last night at Park East Synagogue is horrifying. This was not a protest. This wasn’t about policy, and this was not about Israel. This was a mob of people openly targeting Jews, a mob that gathered outside a synagogue, chanting, threatening and intimidating a religious community for being Jewish. Hours earlier, I had been inside that very building meeting with community members, and now police had to form a barrier around the house of worship in the United States to protect Jews from violence. This is the same pattern that we saw in Europe in the 1930s, mobs outside synagogues, demonization, collective blame, and now law enforcement forced into the role of physical protectors of Jewish life. You do not surround a synagogue if your issue is foreign policy. You do that when your goal is to terrorize Jews. This is bloodthirsty, hate-driven fanaticism, and it has absolutely no place here in the United States. The police must get this under control, and our leaders must call it out for what it is. This is anti-Jewish persecution. Get these people out of the country and designate the Muslim brotherhood now.
