stayc getting advice on how to deal with negative rumors as their contract renewal is coming up soon… 🐰: it’s almost been 7 years now and contract renewal season is coming up, so there are so many videos going up… people speculating and posts guessing whether we’ll disband or not go up constantly these days… 🐰: even when i try not to let it get to me, it does and it does hurt us (🥺) … how do you recover from that? 👩🏻: the things you can’t do anything about, just let them pass. we can’t teach other people common sense. so there’s no need to be hurt right now 👩🏻: and also… go pester your company! if you can’t take it, give your company a hard time! 🐯: i think that’s what we needed to hear

Are we really worried about this as movie fans? The Odyssey is a 3,000 year old mythological story with a Cyclops, sorceress, sirens, and Poseidon. It’s complete fiction, just set in a vaguely specific time period. It’s only ever been “accurate” to the time it was written and was passed down for years before being put to paper. So yeah, I would say everyone gets to take their artistic liberties with it. The original author Homer did. Why can’t Nolan? It’s not like he has them driving Cybertrucks and tweeting about their journey home. Lighten up people! It’s a movie, not a history book. And it looks awesome. Let’s have some fun with it and appreciate what we have. I agree with Films at Home (Jeff Rauseo) and it’s a Christopher Nolan film 🎥

I remember talking with the USA Hockey leadership group a few years back when I started as a youth hockey director and I was like “I don’t know if I can do this…” It was stressful as hell and it was hard to enact the kind of things I wanted to do because the youth hockey culture was so backwards on the priorities of development. They told me that I’d be shocked how many good, high level hockey people get into it for a year to give back and then are like - nah I’m good this is not the experience I was looking for. We need to find a way to entice more good hockey people to want to get involved in the youth side of the game. And I think the only way to do it is more community based hockey. Less pressure, more development. More opportunity for the players who get out of the high level of the game to enjoy coming to the rink and not feel like it’s a full time job again. We talked about the importance of more high level hockey people getting involved at the grassroots level on our latest podcast with Nick Robone. Check it out. 🎙️
