🇹🇼 At least 51 people have been injured in Taiwan as Typhoon Fung-Wong sweeps across the island. Authorities evacuated more than 8,300 residents from coastal and mountain areas and closed schools as the tropical storm reached Taiwan’s southern regions. Earlier, Fung-Wong hit the Philippines as a super typhoon, causing floods, landslides, and killing at least 27 people. The storm has since weakened but continues to bring heavy rain and flooding. The worst-affected area is Hualien County, where floodwaters swept away a car, and rivers have already overflowed their banks.
