We have launched a nationwide campaign (Chhatron Ki Goonj) on the crisis in India's education system. As part of this campaign, Leader of Opposition Shri Rahul Gandhi ji has already interacted with students in Kota and will soon address students in Patna and Prayagraj, culminating in a major rally in Delhi in mid-July. It's obvious to the whole country that there is a very serious problem with our examination system. This is not just the question of the NEET but major examinations. Now, the minister has blamed everybody except himself. I don't think he understands the fundamentals of what's going on here. The issue is that there are millions of students in this country who are extremely concerned about what is going on and who are convinced that the Indian examination system is a fraud. Millions of people believe that if you're rich, you can buy the Indian examination system, and this is the same feeling we as the Opposition have. This is why we are asking some very simple questions to the Hon. Minister. 👉As this is a systemic issue, what exactly are you doing to fix the issue at a systemic level? : LoP Shri Rahul Gandhi

Indian democracy is actually a global public good. It's not just an Indian asset; it's a global asset. When I'm talking about the attack on the Indian democratic system, it's actually an attack not just on the Indian democratic system but also an attack on the global democratic system. Because if you were to remove India as a democracy, if you were to remove 1.5 billion people from the democratic side, that's a huge dent in global democracy. It has ceased to function. There are consequences to this. We are now facing a time of serious economic crisis, and in such times, you need these systems to function. The government should understand that. They should listen to what the people of India are saying. It is a warning from the students of India and a warning from the Opposition that you cannot continue to run India the way you have been running it. This country does not belong to you. It belongs to the people of India. It belongs to the Constitution of India. These institutions do not belong to you either. You need to have a good education system, and I believe that 👉 Education should not be extremely expensive. 👉 Education should not be fully privatised. There can be private schools and colleges, but there is a role for good-quality government education, and for that, the government has to put money into the budget for education. So that’s the first thing. The second thing is that you have to create an atmosphere where jobs are being generated - not just jobs in the service industry and the IT industry, but also jobs in manufacturing and small and medium industries - so that they can help in the development of the country and young boys and girls can get jobs here.
