It's sad how some women will attempt to justify this simply because the aggressor is a woman. He was clearly trying to deescalate and walk away, yet she continued to assault him. If the roles were reversed, he would still be in jail right now. Domestic violence against men is a serious and often overlooked issue. Accountability should not be based on gender, violence is violence. Women must be held to the same standard and should keep their hands to themselves. Women do this to provoke the man into fighting back, which results in him facing charges while she only gets a slap on the wrist. I hope the legal system holds her fully accountable. This happens to men often, and some are still in jail over situations like this simply because it wasn’t caught on camera.

Emma's behavior in this episode is a controversial topic among the fandom. She widely gets hate for "not minding her business and spreading the rumor about Liberty and Armstrong", but in my opinion the reality was more nuanced than that. Emma, who was groomed and nearly assaulted by an internet predator, was just looking out for Liberty and this is one of the few episodes where she actually behaved like a friend towards her. Terri was the one who spread the rumor and caused it to blow out of proportion. However this episode made it clear that Liberty was a victim of bullying by other students and it never really got addressed. I also don't like how it's established in this episode that she has a disability that never gets focused on after this incident. Her dyscalculia only serves as a plot device in Emma's story instead of her own, which really did a disservice towards black disability representation. This unfortunately will not be the last time that a serious storyline involving Liberty is told from the POV of other characters instead of her own.

One think that makes this series even more interesting is Pat's heart palpitations condition. I would have thought that this would only happen in stressful situations and she didn't seem stressed when talking to her mom. Any other channel would have put 2-3 scene with Pat's condition then moved it along. It's interesting to see that Pat just gets worse and worse the more we get into the series. It sucks to know that this is a real thing people go through. Some people get help, others think nothing of it. It sucks even more when P' Prem could have atleat tried to help if she had known.
