Dave Smith never understood libertarianism. Him and his ilk have damaged the brand terribly, perhaps beyond repair.

If most people were terminally online like us, I would agree with you. Luckily most libertarians aren't caught up in all this and know better.

Now swap “deportation” with “bomb Gaza” and imagine it coming out of his mouth “I know there will be a human cost, but we just have to bomb them guys”

Dave has explained the position and it's a completely consistent position. The reality is that the state does not let us do things "the private property way" and we're not in power to make it work that way. So either you're going to do something that is accurately viewed by some as allowing trespass or doing something accurately viewed by some as aggressing against freedom of movement. There's not a "this is libertarian, this is not" answer to this, it's "given that the government has taken away our rights regarding this, what do we, in light of that, advocate for?" And that's just a personal preference, not a libertarian slam dunk in one direction or another.
