What’s going on in South Africa is regrettable. We can’t be our own enemies, beating fellow African just because they came hustling in your country is insane level of xenophobia. I thought South Africa’s main problem is the Whites who took their land illegally, I’m surprised they’re beating fellow Africans in the streets too. Quite embarrassing. What’s up with South Africans? Apartheid must have left them with very bad trauma & possibly mental issues.

He wanted to ask, “Are you naturalised?” But instead he asked, “Are you neutralised?” 🤣🤣🤣 Just a play on words; it doesn’t matter. This is Zimbabwe in 2000 all over again. The only difference is that they are targeting Africans who look like them. Many South Africans have been saying to me that there are no xenophobic attacks. What is this, then? This man is a South African. He has his papers. His only “crime” is that he is Black and originally came from another African country. This is the textbook definition of xenophobia and Afrophobia. How can you want to kick out a man who is South African, fully documented, and then claim it is not xenophobia or Afrophobia? Make it make sense to this kwerekwere, to this Z ai-zai from Zimbabwe. South Africa’s reputation is being harmed due to this thuggery! Sad to watch, yet there are some adults who still can’t get it!

I do not know why some of you continue to lie about what I say or do not say. I have made it absolutely clear that Afrophobia and xenophobia are at the centre of what has been happening. For instance, in this video, Jacob Zuma’s MK Party is going around KwaZulu-Natal telling foreign African nationals that whether they are documented or undocumented, they must leave South Africa. That is Afrophobia. That is xenophobia. If someone is lawfully in South Africa and you still want them expelled simply because they are African, while you have no issue with white, Indian or Chinese foreign nationals who are also legally in the country, then your objection is not about immigration status. It is about Africans. That is the very definition of Afrophobia. Let me repeat what I have always said: I do not support illegal immigration, and I have never supported illegal immigration. What I do not support is Afrophobia. Jacob Zuma’s political party has openly declared that it does not want Africans in South Africa. It is not saying it only opposes undocumented migrants. In this very video, its members explicitly state that they also want documented, law-abiding African foreign nationals to leave. That is Afrophobia. That is xenophobia. If you cannot recognise that, then you simply do not understand what Afrophobia or xenophobia means.

My dear friend, I am not lying. I am telling the truth. Journalism is not about what you or I would like to be true. It is about what is true. The point I made in my previous post, that Botswana’s President, Advocate Duma Boko, has spoken out against xenophobia and Afrophobia, is not something I made up. It is a matter of public record. I have attached a video of President Boko speaking out against xenophobia. He has been consistent, and his political party recently held a conference at which, out of all the politicians in Southern Africa, it invited Julius Malema, a South African Pan-Africanist who has consistently spoken out against xenophobia and Afrophobia. Botswana has been clear and consistent in its position on xenophobia and Afrophobia. When I say these things, they may be inconvenient for some people, but that does not make them any less true. The truth is not determined by what you or I want it to be. The truth is determined by the facts.

I want my followers to understand that you SHOULDN’T insult South Africa as a country based on a few loud voices on social media who express racist or xenophobic views. South Africa has provided numerous opportunities to the world, particularly to Africans. If South Africans were truly xenophobic, Africans would not be living there in such large numbers today. The majority of South Africans are welcoming to all foreigners who are legally in the country and do not commit crimes. These foreigners work with South Africans, live with them, and many are married to South Africans. There is nothing to worry about in South Africa if you are there legally and not committing crimes. South African citizens have the right to express concerns about illegal foreign nationals and those who commit crimes. In Zimbabwe, illegal foreigners are often placed in dilapidated jails, and refugees are housed in camps like Tongogara in Manicaland. Generalisations are dangerous, especially when they taint and insult a silent majority that is not xenophobic. Local communities in South Africa have protected foreign nationals from a small, violent minority on many occasions. The South African government is not xenophobic either. If it were, Zimbabwean women, who make up 70% of pregnant women giving birth at Musina Hospital in Limpopo, would not be allowed there. We should be grateful for the South African hospitality we have received for decades. It is important to recognise that while xenophobia and racism may exist in certain pockets of society, these attitudes do not reflect the majority of South Africans or the country as a whole. Respecting the rights of South African citizens to voice concerns about illegal immigration and crime is important, as these are valid issues. However, it is equally important to avoid generalising these concerns to portray the entire nation as xenophobic or unwelcoming. If South Africans were truly xenophobic, parties like PA and Action SA would be in power today. The four largest political parties in South Africa have never used xenophobia as a campaign platform, which should be telling. Do not judge a nation's character based on a few loud, yet inconsequential voices on social media. They do not represent South Africa accurately. Countries are a product of their history. We shouldn’t draw comparisons with where we come from and insist that our hosts should behave as we do. If South Africans were to follow our practices in Zimbabwe, refugees would be in camps and illegal foreigners would be in jail! In Zimbabwe, refugees are not even allowed to work, if you are found working, you are thrown into jail. South Africa, on the other hand, provides equal legal rights in its courts to foreigners as it does to South Africans. These actions are not those of a xenophobic country. Zimbabwe has refused to issue documents to people of Malawian and Zimbabwean origin, and it has revoked the citizenships of many Zimbabweans whose great-grandparents came from elsewhere. In any society, you are going to have opportunistic politicians and unemployables who think that all their problems are caused by foreigners, we have them everywhere, but they shouldn’t be used to define a whole nation!

"I came to the South African Embassy in Japan and experienced xenophobia." You are Zimbabwean. Living in Japan. Using a South African driver's license. And you went to the South African Embassy ..; not the Zimbabwean Embassy ..; to get help. And when they couldn't help you, you called it xenophobia? You are a Zimbabwean national ..; not South African. You obtained a South African driver's license ..; while you were in South Africa. You are now in Japan ..; and you went to the South African Embassy for assistance. The embassy told you they couldn't verify your license ..; because they don't provide consular services for foreign nationals. Sis, that's not xenophobia. That's the law. The South African Embassy is there to serve South African citizens ..; not Zimbabweans, not Nigerians, not anyone else. You didn't go to the Zimbabwean Embassy. You didn't use Zimbabwean documents. You didn't follow the proper process. You expected South Africa to help you ..;even though you are not South African. And when they didn't, you cried xenophobia. This is the entitlement we are talking about. You used South Africa to study. You used South Africa to get a license. You used South Africa as a bridge to Japan. And now you want South Africa to help you in Japan too? Why didn't you use your Zimbabwean documents? Why didn't you go to the Zimbabwean Embassy? Why didn't you follow the proper process?
