Yes to some degree we have open borders in that people are allowed to seek asylum here, under the law. This law has not really been different under previous administrations. Yes, more people are trying to come into America now, but in reality, is anything really "more open" other than the fact that the arguably inhumane 'Remain in Mexico' policy was terminated? Those who want to deport 4.6% of the US workforce should take an economics class and see what would happen to the US economy if we removed a workforce of that size. The solution is massive amounts of additional border security agents and technology (including better fencing in certain places) to coincide with the amount of additional people crossing the border.
