I don’t trust Putin, and he doesn’t trust us, but both sides can trust that we *do* act in our self-interest. We can end the war in Ukraine by freezing the current lines of control & committing to keep Ukraine out of NATO in return for dissolving the China-Russia military alliance. The real threat is the China-Russia alliance which we worsen every day by driving Russia further into China’s hands, yet no one is talking about it.
