Almost every single game right now is cheaper on disc on Amazon, Bestbuy, etc vs Digital on Sony's storefront. You think Sony is going to magically decide to lower the prices? LMAO

Games are *not* always on discount. More often than not, physical games are significantly cheaper than digital.

games will be always cheaper at some point, i do agree that sometimes CD’s are cheaper but we always get some nice discounts on ps or even cdkyes or g2a, i don’t mind this change i bought first ps5 with disc and after 6 years never used it

No physical copies of games means that you aren't able to sell what you bought, you can't shop around for discounts, and you're forced to pay the price that one corporation is telling you that you have to pay. You can get Metal Gear Solid for $25 on Amazon, its full price on sony. Imagine that, but for every single game.

Well I ain’t interested in buying/playing every game. I wouldn’t sell something everyone can buy. Again Majority of them been out people with platforms shoulda been had em. Waiting til things get bad to now start wanting things sounds irresponsible imo.

As a game dev…this is why we’ve been trying to tell you…gaming is dying to record high corporate greed…they’ll take all your games away with no refund…

The part where they lock you out of your games for not paying for play station plus or the part where they can ban you from playing your games based off of unrelated outside life decisions like a post you made online or some shit. You will never actually own anything with this model. The reason they’re doing this is because these games are going to generate you real money and will be a lot of peoples actual income business ect. For most people gaming aka the “metaverse” will be essential so that’s why they want you paying for it in every way and controlled. The jobs are gone and ai is taking over so living inside these games are about to become a lot of peoples only way to survive. Be invested in all of these things if you see what’s coming.

I hate this for all consumers. We deserve to have options and competition in the marketplace. Without a physical retail option we lose. No opportunity to seek cheaper prices or to resell "our" games or loan them to friends. What happens when your account gets hacked or banned??

Guess what… they also have power to lock your account. So once you’ve purchased games they can lock you out and you’d have to repurchase. It happened to me a before

I get why people hate this, but they should have seen this coming. Most AAA games are outgrowing the standard PS5 disc. And with day-one patches, many games on disc are going to be unplayable if they phase out the PS5 online storefront.

I remember when ps4 would have discounts for digital or even no sales tax in the store. But as time went by digital became the new norm. Disc drives at this point are gonna be gone. Then we’re just left with a box that needs an internet connection at all times and no servers.

You can’t even play disc games without the internet anyways since near the end of ps3 so I mean why are you getting so butt hurt now they haven’t been making perfect games since late 2000s and early 2010s
