I think it’s just a cool way to show off the tech

I think they thought it’d just be a cool reference since a lot of ppl jump to Ready Player One when talking VR/AR.

Oftentimes in filmmaking you are trying to do the most compelling version of a shot based on the objects/humans in the scene+ optimal composition. It’s a more objective art form than people give it credit. So it’s likely they both saw this as the most compelling way to present this action. Cool video as always.

Fun fact about apple’s shot - after the actor’s arm crosses the camera frame, the actor is replaced by a CGI model. One of the crew members mentioned that on Twitter

Ready player one is both a warning and an invitation to create a better future Apple can make it less dystopian and is likely that AR keeps you grounded in your space instead of the transported feeling of the oasis But yeah is the same shot, let’s go to the Oasis

@HussainSaadSyed its not a coincidence neither a warning, its j the fact that apple always copy everything, they never have their own idea not even for an advertisement video.

It’s probably not a warning because why would they try to kill their own sales? If the shot was intentional and inspired by RPO, then please notice that this is not the “exact same shot”. The camera pan is mirrored; perhaps hinting that this will bring a future that is opposite of the borderline dystopian future showed in RPO? It’s not the exact same shot.
