Top one is the older, bottom is the newer, you can 100% see a clear difference in the quality of animation between both of them

I can’t tell much of a difference. What specifically makes the bottom one worse?

The obstacles move at the same exact pace, the weight isn’t emphasized at all so they just seem like weightless feathers, as well as the noticeably choppier, stiffer animation with way less frames. You can see this with how the characters and the obstacles move, neither of which feel as bouncy, rubber, or snappy. These are the main ones that I’ve noticed, you kind of have to look closer to actually see all the flaws with the bottom one

Difference I can tell is the bottom emphasizes fluid movement over impact. There is a difference but I don't see that as "lower quality" or "lesser" animation, just a different approach. Though for the sake of slapstic comedy, impact emphasis is kinda important.

I'm an animator, and they are both good with slight changes and goals. The fact that the animation style is consistent with both older and newer episodes shows it. Also I consider both newer styles of spongbob because the Older style is so different.

I think the incidental choice for the end of the Friendiversery clip is better, they feel more fitting compared to the adult incidentals from the Life Insurance clip

Wow, I never even noticed how the naimation deteriorated over time. It isn't anything truly abysmal, but it's definetly a bit of a downgrade. I do think that it got better in the more recent seasons, though.
