It’s hard not to believe that something like this is based off a true story. It happens more than we think.

There are Christians who believe in some sort of conversion therapy, and many of those who actively seek it out, but the ones who take it to this fanatical extreme are in the minority. While many of us believe thaf homosexuality is sinful, we also recognize that it is no more sinful than lying or lashing out with unjustified anger. Being gay is not the ultimate sin, nor is it the one thing that will bar one from grace any more than the errant lustful eye cast toward another person's spouse. This example is certainly not the way, and I would caution any christian who thinks it is OK to pressure someone in this manner.

Not all Christians agree with conversion therapy, and many see homosexuality as one sin among others, not something that defines or excludes a person from grace. Pressuring people in that way isn’t the right approach.
