It’s strange how few people were willing to engage with Hartnett’s performance in Trap like he was hitting that weird/unnatural cartoon Dad register on purpose to depict the identity compartmentalization of his character. Cool to hear him talk about it.

People don’t give M Night movies enough credit for the how self aware he is about the stilted and overly sincere cheesy tone. That’s his style, those are the movies he likes. It’s not a flaw it’s a feature.

I thought the performance was good. Not sure I liked the direction, plot, dialogue, etc. around it, but he definitely conveyed that aspect of the character.

Its weird when I read people thought it didn't make sense or was bad. It made complete sense and this is what I thought the character was doing (good to get a confirmation). I also really liked the perspective of the villain escaping the FBI, instead of another FBI agent's POV.

Yes! I feel like people were so gleeful to hate on it instead of ask questions about Trap’s style. I wrote a whole essay about why I think Saleka’s deadpan performance as Lady Raven was a key part of her character too

I predicted something might happen to Charlie Kirk after he did this. And it looks like it might have been the last straw for the people who ultimately took him out because that same debate followed him all the way up to his death. Weird that his closest friends don’t seem to understand that and that they seem to stand in direct opposition to him on almost everything. Also weird how Charlie himself said the greatest threat he faced was people closest to him. Almost like he knew he had a target on his back after that debate and that the target might have come from people closest to him. But hey, I’m just a conspiracy theorist.

k-pops! movie cast on working with vernon ☺️ #버논 👤 he was a joy to work with. very kind, polite. he didn’t have a 50 person entourage. he was willing to do improv and try different things. he was in a scene with my son, he was really cool, making him feel comfortable. it was awesome! 👤 we love seventeen! 👤 we shot [his scene] outdoors in korea, so there were already people spotting him and we were kinda getting that kpop fandom experience. very meta too, cause [soul’s] character is fanning out on him during the shoot as well
