“It’s the presentation of contested ideas, which are not shared by the majority of the population, as if they’re mandatory... it’s a systemic problem in the literary culture.” Jenny Lindsay speaks to Ian Collins on Talk about Matilda Gosling’s report for SEEN in Publishing ⬇️

@msjlindsay @iancollinsuk @TalkTV @matildagosling @SEENPublishing At long last, the gender politics of the publishing industry are exposed for what they are.

@msjlindsay @iancollinsuk @TalkTV @matildagosling @SEENPublishing It's clear that this developed into a systemic issue in the arts, partic in Scotland, years ago, with orgs who could have remained neutral/evenhanded capitulating to trans ideology, not least to attract public funding that would follow in line with SNP govmt social engineering.

@MForstater @msjlindsay @iancollinsuk @TalkTV @matildagosling @SEENPublishing I think, as well as a literary problem, this ‘presentation of contested ideas as if it’s all already been decided’ is very much part of the TRA playbook everywhere. Just another form of NO DEBATE, because this ideology crumbles to dust under the slightest examination/scrutiny.

@msjlindsay @iancollinsuk @TalkTV @matildagosling @SEENPublishing Even now MP activists are using @ScotParl @UKParliament as their own platforms to hound people for their sensible views about gender & sex. Looking @DCMS @CreativeScots @ace_national for letting bias bullying behaviour sour their orgs & break the law. @HoCStandards @UNSRVAW

Intersectional feminists destroyed RWA (Romance Writers of America). They couldn't just reasonably and calmly address actual issues, they worked very hard to change the scope of the genre to meet their political agenda. By the time they completely sunk, I celebrated that they no longer had such a huge bullhorn. But you can blame those women (the ones who torched RWA) for a lot of the mess you're seeing in publishing.

@msjlindsay @iancollinsuk @TalkTV @matildagosling @SEENPublishing The Arts/Literary world is quite Liberal and progressive. And will not be natually inclusive of People with GC views. If you take a more conservative world view I would suggest contacting 55 Tufton Street (If you haven't already!)
